Hi Ladies,

We're in the very early stages in planning our wedding. 11-02-07 is the date of choice.

Any positive/negative details any of you can provide on the Westin or Dreams would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

While i have never been to either location when I was planning I looked at both. Easily said your decision will come down to price. If you are footing the bill for more than the reception then an AI is the way to go. The Westin looked beautiful online and was remodeled recently (room decor) but the catering/ bar charges were a bit steep for us. We wanted a group meal each day. Keep that in mind. Other than that I haven't heard bad things about either.

I think the Westin has the cool peninsula to have a ceremony onhuh.gif

a coworker i know just got married at dreams in nuevo and said it was fantastic. there is a private beach to have your ceremony or reception.

also, it is a pretty good deal (about $225 per night).

westin is also a good deal (about $190-195) per night but not AI.

i guess you really need to figure out what the best situation for your group is in terms of what you want out of your wedding and what your budget it. if you are on a tighter budget AI's are easier.

Welcome Erika! I'm a PV bride too. Hopefully we can share info here on the fourm. Well I love the Westin sets their receptions on the beach, i.e. the table set up inside of the cabanas. However I love where Dreams is situated. Its more private and you have the backdrop of the mountain/ jungle (not the right term but you know what I mean.)

If you haven't already checked, these sites have pictures of both places

Welcome, Erika! You will definitely find this site helpful, not only for planning your wedding, but also just for keeping you sane! It's great just to bounce an idea around, or vent about anything!

I am getting married in PV as well, but not at a resort. I've just begun looking at resorts to stay at and hold my welcome dinner. I'll be sure to post any information I find! I haven't stayed there personally, but a friend has stayed at the Westin and loved it.

Happy planning!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
