Free or Budget Accomodation for Engaged couple looking at potential sites

Recommended Posts

We're not cheap. We are just saving for our wedding, BUT I'm flying in from NY and he's flying in from Australia. This is a last minute trip and our first and only and we need to find a place to stay. Does anyone know of hotels, villas that will offer complimentary or budget accomodation?

Reason I ask is our tickets are $760 each for four days. yikes.

Yes, believe it or not its true. I know it sounds crazy and I didn't think it was possible, but a friend of mine who is the former director of tourism said that hotels and villas are willing to compete for your business so they happily comp rooms or offer a significant discount for a night or two in hopes that you book out their space. So I set out to ask around and low and behold she was right. I found three really nice places (one is right on the beach) that were willing to comp our accomodation (one said for a week and if we decide to book our wedding there). Crazy but true.

We've decided to wait till after the holidays to head down to PV to have a look.

I thought in the orginal post you were looking for a place that would let you stay free during your wedding. You are looking for a place where you can stay free for a site visit? I am pretty sure I've heard of people getting very low rates for a site visit.

Have you thought about not doing a site visit? A lot people on the forum never do a site visit & everything works out fine. I'm not planning to do one.

It's really not that ludicrous, I have heard of resorts that do this. If you may have your wedding there some places will comp things for you. (Just like Galit said) Call the ones you are interested in and try to make a deal. As they say, closed mouths don't get fed.

If that fails and you aren't fussy, try a hostel:

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
