Hi has anyone had their wedding here and if so how was your experience? Did you do excursions? How was the salon as far as hair and make up? Any advice

Congrats and welcome to BDW! This is a great site with tons of ideas that will help you on your planning journey!

Have you looked through the resort reviews yet? I'm sure there have been brides that have used your resort in the past so it's worth a look. As well, do a search in the forums to see if there are current threads for the resort you've chosen.

Good luck and happy planning!

I am getting married at Palma Real in Feb 2016.

I booked the bridal suite and will have the salon ladies do hair and make up. Have you done your visit yet? So the actual salon is located at the Reserve, which is a golf cart ride away, and the ladies charge something like $45/person (per person getting ready), to come to a room at the hotel. I booked a package which includes the bridal suite and 5 hair and make ups, which comes out to a pretty good discount (you can reach out to the salon manager for different package prices), and then i am adding 5 more hairs and make up, as i have 9 bridesmaids and my mother, and myself. The manager said she could have 4 girls working on us at the same time which is great. I had to get the bridal suite because all in it ended up being cheaper then having the ladies come to a room, but the bridal suite is not that nice - its small and underwhelming, to be honest.

We are not going to do any planned excursions for the whole group, but we are having our rehearsal dinner on La Barcaza on Thurs night (just wedding party and first family) and are going to suggest different excursions for our guests that are staying longer. We are also doing the welcome bbq on Friday night with all guests - and then wedding Saturday.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
