This is a big resort with a lot to do on the resort. A fabulous place, we loved every minute of our wedding week.

We had a junior suite which I would highly recommend especially if you are travelling with a child. Our son is 20 months old and they had a playpen set up in the room. It was great. I don't know why there are so many bad reviews, we absolutely loved this place. It was paradise. Some of our guests said their beds were hard, ours was perfect but we love a firm bed. The rooms got cleaned as soon as we left in the morning, and our fridge was stocked daily. We had a Jacuzzi on the balcony which we did not use as it was so hot the week we were there.

Restaurants: our favorite was the Mexican buffet for breakfast, usually not as busy as the international. The Italian did a lunch buffet which was amazing. Both the international and Mexican had great suppers as well. As far as a la carte options, hands down our favorite was Los Lirios (steak and fish house)! I can't say enough about the salmon! A must try. We also had the Japanese, brazillian, Italian, and mediterannean. I liked them all, was very impressed with the food options! Oh and I forgot to mention the snack bar...best burgers, hotdogs and fries!!

Pools: We spent most of our time at the main pool and the kids park. Both were great. I have heard bad things about the beach/ocean, yes there are a few rocks but not bad in my opinion. There was one day the seaweed was so bad, even smelt bad. But the workers were out there all day and it was completely clear of seaweed by the next morning. We brought water shoes just in case of the rocks, didn't ever use them. We were able to get chairs by the pool or beach everyday :)

Wedding: Let me start out by giving a huge shout out to Marine!!! She is absolutely amazing and will make your dream come true. I was very laid back with the planning of our wedding and she made it more than perfect! So quick to respond to emails, always put my mind at ease and can do anything you ask! We had a group of 32, the perfect size in my opinion. We met with her the day after we arrived and from there we didn't have to do anything wedding related, just relax! Perfect! Marine set up a group supper for us the night before the wedding, it was at the Brazilian, it was perfect. Didn't cost us anything or take away from our a la cartes. The morning of the wedding my husand and I went for breakfast and then parted ways. I met my 2 maid of honors and flower girl at the salon at 11:30 for our hair appointments. All 4 of us were done by 1:45. Carmen did my hair (super naturally curly hair), she was awesome! I can't say enough good things about her! She completely got my vision and made me look perfect. My hair was my only stress of the trip! And it was flawless. Held up all afternoon and night! After our hair, we went back to my room to get dressed and out on makeup. Our photographer got there at about 2:30 to do get ready pictures and then he went to the ceremony location. Once all the guests, and groom were there, Ale (Marine's assistant- who is also fabulous and so helpful) came to pick us girls up and take us to the ceremony. We had the rings tied to a starfish...they came undone and got lost in the sand. We continued on with the ceremony and Marine had a worker come immediately with a metal detector, they were found at the perfect time!! After the ceremony we did pictures on the beach and had a cocktail hour complete with a bar and appetizers. Everything was perfect! Yummy!! We chose the roof top terrace for our reception, I highly recommend this location. So beautiful, quiet and the perfect view of the ocean and beach. Our package included a DJ, he was good, gave a list of must have songs and we were set. Our reception was from 6-10. I wasn't done at 10 so we extended it for another hour at an extra cost but this was no big deal. For real, Marine can make anything work. She is with you every step of the day and night! We chose the BBQ buffett, you can make any substitutions. Once again, just ask and I bet Marine will get it done for you!!

I highly recommend this resort for a vacation and a wedding!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
