@perianjay Thanks hun!  Haha I ended up eating so many sweets!  Everyone knows sugar is my weakness =p I started reading you planning thread and I love it so far!

@deecol Thanks hun!  It feels really surreal!  What's your wedding colour?  It's so sweet to see how excited Mom's get.  Mine had me believing I wasn't having one at all.  Thanks for reading =)  I've done a lot of stuff that I haven't shared yet, but I'm trying to space it out.  My goal is to update weekly until I leave and then when I get back too.  My biggest regret waiting so long to start my planning thread as I'm finding that they are a great way to meet other brides, get feedback on ideas, and bounce ideas around.

Did you start your planning thread yet? I would love to read it.  I'm obsessed with planning threads lol

It is very weird to have all the attention on you. Yesterday at the legal ceremony I felt very weird at first and then I kind of relaxed haha, even though it was just my parents and two family friends who are like my aunt and uncle. Then my family from Argentina was on skype watching from home :). I think it was good practice for when I have 30 people looking at me the next time we do this haha.

It was great how people got along, now I'm not so nervous about trying to "entertain" people while in Mexico. I know it's silly to think that i'd have to, but I always worry whether people are having fun haha.

OOT Bags/ Favour Bags:

So last weekend I decided to get together with my family and Dan to assemble my favour bags.  I'm really proud of them and I love how they turned out!  I've been working on them since January and I was thrilled to see my vision come to life.

I think this has been one of my favourite parts of wedding planning so far.  I knew from day one that I wanted to do favour bags and I wanted them to be good!  Dan and I are really appreciative of everyone that will be coming to the wedding and we understand that they are paying a lot to come to our wedding so we wanted to make sure that they are taken care of and feel appreciated.  I budgeted $700.00, for favours, but ended up going over since I now have 30 guests coming (I had originally planned on 25 people coming).  Thankfully I bought extra things so that I was able to compensate for the extra guests.

This is a list of what I have in the bags:

- Personalized Red tote bag

- Personalized Red Mason Jar plastic tumblers

-2 Personalized pens with red caps

-1 Beach towel (MIL paid for them, she wanted them to be included)

-1 Memo pad

- 1 Deck of cards

- 1 Suoku book or Word Search book

- 1 face cloth (I was told by a TA that my resort doesn't have them)

-1 Oh $**t Kit with the following items:  2 advil packets, 1 pepto packet, 1 tube of sunblock, 1 tube of After Sun, 2 large band aids, 2 small band aids, 1 chapstick

-One Personalized letter

-One Brochure

I found this little poem on this forum that I decided to use for the labels on my Oh $**t Kits "Too much fun, too much sun, too much booze, too much food," then I added "Don't worry we've got you covered ;)"

I got carried away with the bags and ended up going over budget =s

I'm attaching pictures of my bags, Welcome letters, and Brocures.  Feel free to use anything you like.  Also, please feel free to ask any questions =)  Attached File  Welcome Brochure Sample.pub   503KB   3 downloadsAttached File  Welcome Letter.docx   19.09KB   3 downloadsAttached File  017.JPG   94.42KB   4 downloadsAttached File  016.JPG   151.17KB   4 downloadsAttached File  cups.jpg   73.21KB   4 downloads

@TinkerSofi Congrats again hun on your legal ceremony!  I saw the pictures you posted and you look absolutely beautiful! I think it's so sweet that you were able to include your family from Argentina to your legal ceremony.  I can't believe you're leaving tomorrow!  When we started talking on this forum you were still months away and so was I.  Now you're day is next week and mine is next month.  Where did the time go lol?

You're not weird at all!  I'm the same way, I will constantly worry about whether or not everyone is having fun.  I did at my bridal shower for the first bit, but then after a while I relaxed and realized everyone was.  I know this sounds weird, but I'm worried that I'm going to need a vacation after my wedding lol.  I feel like I'll be running around making sure all the wedding plans are going smoothly and making sure my guests are taken care of.

@diadiamond I love your planning thread! You must be getting so excited as your big day nears. I love your bridal shower, I love the tea pot cake. You have done such a great job with everything, and I love your OOT/welcome bags. Your guests are gonna appreciate just how thoughtful you are, you've included everything! I may have to steal a few ideas. Quick question, where did you get your Advil packets? I can't find them anywhere!

Oh I love the bags!! They turned out great! That's a super list of stuff that you put in too! I have a couple of the same things that I'm including but we're also doing sunglasses. Where did you get the bags from! They look really good!!

@Wafflesmom Thank you hun!  I am getting really excited, but also nervous, scared, and anxious.  Thanks for the reassurance that everything looks okay.  I'm so nervous that I've overlooked or forgotten something.

You are more than welcome to borrow or steal any ideas from me.  Sharing is caring =)

I got my advil packets off of Amazon I think they were $25.00 for 50 packets and each packet has 2 pills.

@TinkerSofi Thanks hun!  I hope my guests like them.  My mom started passing some of them out and we've been getting some good feedback from guests.

@acw271011 Thanks hun!  Sunglasses are a great idea!  I got my bags off of a site called Discount Mugs.  They ended up costing a lot because of the shipping, but to me they were worth it.  I really wanted the customized bags, cups, and pens.

@calgarybride2015 Thanks hun =)

@diadiamond I started with red and white and then my Groomzilla decided he didn't like that colour anymore lol so we've switched to pink (coralish), white and hits of silver (for the cake topper, my indoor reception shoes etc.)

I can't wait to start my thread, I think about it all the time lol.  I've been crazy busy this summer, picking up bartending work on weekends etc, September and October are calmer for me so I can't wait to sit down on a weekend and start it!  I have so much to share! lol

oooo I just saw your mason jars - loveeee!  Where did you get them?

@deecol I think your colours are going to be beautiful!  I look forward to reading your thread when you start it.  I wish I started mine earlier.

I got my mason jars from discount mugs.  They cost me quite a bit, but they were worth it.  My guests who have gotten their bags love them so far.  I'm not very good with DIY stuff so I paid the little bit extra to have this company laser print the text onto the mason jars.
