Which Bachelorette Party Option is Best??

Recommended Posts

My BM's are having my bachelorette party in March ... and have asked what I want to do.

I told them of three places I'd like to have it -- and that I just want to party and have a great time with all my girlfriends.

My three places are:

Carolina Beach, NC (closest option for my MD/DC/VA friends) -- We would rent out a big beach house. They have great charter fishing trips there and a party boat for like $8/pp. it's a small fishing beach town and my uncle lives there. We can walk everywher and perhaps get a limo into downtown Wilmington NC one night.

Charleston, SC (Folly Beach) -- one of my BM's has a townhouse there and we go there all the time. This would likely be the cheapest option since she has a townhouse and we know other people in her complex where other girls could crash for the weekend. It's the furthest option for the majority of OOT friends. We would go out in Folly one night (walking) and then cab it to downtown Charleston one night.

Myrtle Beach, SC -- lots of the chain bars/clubs to go to and middle ground travel-wise for the OOT girls. The thing I like about this option is being able to call the dueling piano bar and get reservations -- cheesy things like that.

Should we go with the least expensive option so that the girls coming to the wedding aren't forking out extra money the month before (although I think the BM's plan to pay for most everything anyway). Probably about half of the girls coming won't be making it to the DW.

To save money, I figure we'd eat-in either one or both nights so that our going-out money is set aside for drinks, etc. My friends and I are not "slumber party" kinda girls. We will be out of the town as much as possible that weekend -- no matter where we go.

I gave my BM's these three options and said they could take it from here, but they want me to narrow it down more.

Tami,

How big is the price difference? If it is not significant, I would pick your top choose. I would also keep in mind the distance some people will be driving. If NC is a lot closer, and not way too expensive, it sounds like that would be a great option for those traveling South. Make it a weekend you will always remember!

The price difference between Folly Beach and the other two would be in accomodations. We have places to stay in the same resort on Folly, but will have to rent a place otherwise. BUT, I don't really want to have to split everyone up for sleeping quarters -- especially since most will be traveling and won't know the people who are opening up their beach homes to us.

I'd say either Carolina Beach or Myrtle Beach. Myrtle beach sounds fun w/ the dueling piano bar and such. Sometimes it's nice to have established places like that to go party...and I have to say, I had a BLAST at my dueling piano bar party! :-)

But yeah, the main reason I would chose those two places is that way you girls could all stay together...Personally, I think THAT's where you'll have a lot of the fun..having drinks, getting ready to go out, etc. Monica & I always have as much fun getting ready to go out as we do actually going out! loL!

There is a dueling piano bar in Wilmington too -- so I'm starting to lean that direction. FH and I are going to Carolina Beach this weekend to visit my uncle, so maybe we'll check out that bar and see what it's like -- as well as the other happening spots. When I go, I always stay on Carolina Beach cos I love it so much -- but this time we'll venture out so I can get an idea of what places we could go if we do have the b-party there!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
