Hello Brides!! I  just started trying to find a (FREE) site where I create a custom wedding website. I began attempting to use mywedding.com because of the cool  app that can be connected with your guests and site butttttt i dont like how i cant place pictures of the resort and adjust them where i would like. I dont like the knot.com layouts either... Ive tried that one too :(

Does anyone one know how i can do this on weddings.com OR a better site to use?

I gave up trying to find a free site and ended up paying for one. The free ones didn't do what I wanted and I didn't find a template that I liked.  :(

I ended up using weddingwoo.com, which gave tons of flexibility to customize. I am really happy with it. Yes, it was $50 for a year, but it's so little in the scheme of the total wedding cost, I figured it didn't matter too much. Here is our site: http://erinandjeff.weddingwoo.com/. You can use any photo you like for the background. Most people use engagement photos, but since we didn't do an engagement shoot, I used a photo I took during a previous trip to the Mayan Riviera.

I hope you find a good free one, though! Please keep us posted.

@@racht33 -Thank you :) I tried lots of free and paid sites. I have about 5 half finished wedding web sites out there LOL. This was the one that allowed me the most flexibility to do what I wanted. But I did spend quite a lot of time on it. I would say it probably takes longer to set this up than some of the canned ones where you are more locked into set pages and a specific template.

Sorry I'm not help. I used mywedding.com and really loved how easy it was to use and how much it did. I only had one or two pics of the resort so didn't need the functionality to move pics around :( hopefully the site suggested to you works!!!! Good luck :)

I found the list of the sites I tried. I'm not sure which ones are free and which ones have a cost, but maybe you'll see some new ones here to check out:

  • Wedding Wire
  • MyWedding.com
  • The Knot
  • WedInvite (more an invitation tool than a web site)
  • eWedding (very limited template options)
  • AppyCouple ($35)
  • Wedding Window
  • Wedding Woo ($50)

I used weddingwire but definitely not many opportunities for customizing pictures. I just wanted something quick and easy and that would allow me to keep track of RSVPs on there to group the tables later.

My mom has a business and she has a free website through weebly.com. It's free to create a simple website, which is definitely more than you will need. You might have to pay for the domain name though, I'm not sure how that works. Anyways, she loves it and it's pretty easy to catch on. It might take you a few hours of playing around until you get the hang of it but I'm sure you'll be happy with it :)

We used mywedding.com 4 years ago and it worked out fine for us. It's funny because I didn't have any trouble putting pics on it or moving them how I wanted. But at my age 4 years ago is taxing on my memory..... so it's likely I'm remembering it all wrong!!

@@acw271011 it's only allowing me to upload 1 picture per section and I can't shift them. But I think I'll just stick with it and just have it be the central info. Area. With all thr TA contact and resort info. I just wanted to make it more inviting but it is what it it is. Plus I really like the my wedding app features. So it's the best free one right now.

Thank you for the help ladies!! Always so much help!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
