Ok Brides..I need help! For those of you from Canada..
I know I can look this stuff up on the internet but I'd like some first hand information.
What is the different between the requirement for getting legally married in Dominican & Mexico. Also, what is the cost associated? How much work is it for each place and how much will it cost?

I've been hearing that Dominican is a lot of work and can cost between $600-$1000 for document translation.

I'd love some real life examples of what exactly you had to do for documents and the cost for both places! Thank you!!!

I think it's a lot of work in Mexico as well. I know that you have to pay to translate the documents from Spanish to English and blood work is also required. I'm having a symbolic ceremony to make life easier.

I'm having a symbolic ceremony as well. When I factored in the money to get married in Mexico legally it was just cheaper to do it at home. That's without counting the time you have to waste out of your vacation getting all the paperwork done and the blood tests. It's just more money and more of a hassle

If you decide to get legally married in mexico, a word of advice, make sure you get married with joint goods. Over there you have a choice and can specify of you're joining your goods or keeping them separate. Of course none of us is thinking well get divorced, but if it happens you don't want a loophole screwing you or your future hubby over.
