Thanks, ladies for all of your posts. I've been busy the last week or two and haven't had a chance to respond.

@@krystalball Have you been assigned your WC yet? I find that so strange - at my resort, my WC was assigned right away, over a year ago.

@ Yes, wine tasting is always a go-to for me! :)

@@calgarybride2015 Autocorrect is priceless. But is "dinkage" any more a word than "dinklage"? LOL

@@ashhtayy I think our guest list is finally complete. The guy needing a transfer booked his own (I assume). The potential Australian guest has not said anything to me directly, so I doubt that is happening. There was talk of one more person coming, but apparently they are not. And then my SIL was going to bring a plus-one all of a sudden (just for the trip, not for the wedding events), but then her friend couldn't come. So I think we are good! The tanning has been going well. I had a colleague ask me if I had been tanning today, because I have a "healthy glow". Seem to have figured out how to avoid the white spots and the heat rash! Thanks for the suggestion on the green signature drink. I poked around and I think I found something.

@@deecol Thanks for the encouragement/support. It's so close now!

I finally got some photos from my bachelorette party! My friend has tried emailing them a few times but I guess they were too big to come through. Here's one of the group at the first restaurant (after the wine tasting):

And then at the second restaurant:

So... we're legal! We had our legal ceremony on Sunday, with our best man and his girlfriend. We had the ceremony at a restaurant on the waterfront, with a really lovely officiant. Followed by bubbles & some seafood tapas. Our friends bought us a bottle of Dom Perignon. It was amazing! Then the four of us went to an Italian restaurant for dinner. We had such a great day! Jeff was really nervous. I didn't feel particularly nervous, but I didn't know what to do - where to stand, where to look, etc. I kept giggling. So I guess I was nervous, too! Here are a couple of pix:

So... we have 25 days left until we leave and 29 days until our Mexico wedding. Here is the updated to-do list:

  • send info to MC as requested (timeline, email addresses so he can ask people for silly stories about us, etc.)

  • undergarments/lingerie

  • hair accessories

  • put together program fans & label/stuff welcome letter envelopes

  • get to the tanning salon!

  • book our honeymoon transportation in Costa Rica

  • start filling out the form for the WC

  • order place card & table number artwork

  • Dress alterations. Minor, probably just taking in at the waist a bit.

  • Work on playlist - Making progress. We spent some time last week compiling songs. Need to put them into playlists, etc.

  • Finalize seating plan

  • Figure out signature drink  -  Cucumber Vodka Mojito (I'm not a fan of rum, but I love mojitos made with vodka.... adding cucumber for something different)

  • Draft final email (events for the week, phone plan/apps, meal choice)

  • Book airport transfer from resort to CUN

  • Place cards - in progress

  • Table numbers - in progress

I can't wait! :)

Yay, you're a married lady now! That's still on my to do list. I've contacted the officiant and just have to get the marriage license from city hall and book the restaurant (and then actually get married, lol).

Thanks for the to do lists - since our dates are almost the same it's been helpful to make sure I'm not missing anything

@@krystalball Do you have a date set for your legal ceremony yet? It's kinda fun :)

Let's see if I have any updates... not too much. My cousin is throwing me a shower this coming Saturday. I don't really know a lot of about what she has planned. My mom is coming over from Vancouver Island for the day/night, and we're going to stay at my cousin's, so that should be fun.

Also, I'm super happy to report that I've now lost 18lbs (since late Sept - this has not been a quick fix!) and my dress that was custom made for me in December has to be taken in a couple of inches around the waist! Only 2 more lbs to go to hit my wedding goal.

Otherwise, I'm just knocking stuff off my list...

  • send info to MC as requested (timeline, email addresses so he can ask people for silly stories about us, etc.)

  • undergarments/lingerie

  • hair accessories

  • put together program fans & label/stuff welcome letter envelopes

  • get to the tanning salon! in progress (I can see tan lines now and a co-worker told me I have a healthy glow!)

  • book our honeymoon transportation in Costa Rica

  • start filling out the form for the WC

  • order place card & table number artwork

  • Finalize seating plan

  • Figure out signature drink  -  Cucumber Vodka Mojito (I'm not a fan of rum, but I love mojitos made with vodka.... adding cucumber for something different)

  • Draft final email (events for the week, phone plan/apps, meal choice)

  • Dress alterations- In progress. Picking up March 29.

  • Work on playlist - In progress.

  • Book airport transfer from resort to CUN

  • Place cards - in progress

  • Table numbers - in progress

  • Teeth whitening - in progress

  • Make mani/pedi appt

  • Finalize photography shot list

  • Check with photographer on payment (he's a friend and hasn't asked for any money yet...)

  • Figure out if we want to do something special for our vows. I don't think we plan to write our own, but may "borrow" something off the internet.

  • Finalize wedding day timeline.

  • Exchange money.

  • Print all documentation to take with us.

  • Buy travel toiletries & meds.

  • Buy a gift for my nephew.

  • Shop for a new swim suit (I have some old ones I'm planning to bring, but maybe should get another one).

What am I missing? Help me out, ladies!

I think it's super fun to not know much about your shower. Makes the whole thing even more exciting. My BMs have been super sneaky and although I do enjoy tripping them up from time to time I try not to ask too many questions so I can be surprised. A post-shower sleepover sounds like a great way to wrap up the evening. I hope your shower is perfect :)

Look at you! Congrats on an 18lb weight loss. You'll be able to lose two more for sure. I bet it feels great seeing the results in your wedding dress - and probably in your everyday clothes! What's your secret? MFP, clean eating, workouts? Share!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
