@@acw271011 I think the border guard was tired and over the day. We had went into the US and went to Seattle just for the night. Since it was a 6ish hour drive I think he thought that was suspicious. He found nothing more than 50 maracas lol

Good luck!! I'm sure you will sort it out. I'm so not old fashioned in the sense it blows my mind that the brides parents should pay -- I'd be like 'you want her? You pay'hahah ok just kidding but still it blows my mind. I understand the reasoning but times sure have changed.

Update on Groom's/Groomsmens' Outfits

We had a really fun weekend with the 2 guys and their GFs. Just chilling out at the campsite, eating, drinking, playing games, etc. Unfortunately there's a campfire ban on right now, but that was the only disappointment - although the weather could have been a bit better, but it wasn't horrible by any means.

We hit up the Seattle Premium Outlets and scored right off the bat at Banana Republic. We got them all matching grey cotton no-iron pants (although they look rather brown in the photo) and we got the GMs light blue linen blend short sleeve shirts. Unfortunately the same shirt in white did not fit Jeff.

Groomsmen Outfit

We also picked up matching sandals for all 3 guys at American Eagle. They are very similar to the ones the GM is wearing in the photo above:

Jeff ended up buying a different shirt (white) at Calvin Klein. No photo and can't find it online. It's cotton, but it's got a bit of texture to it that makes it seem linen-ish. They looked fine together.

So we're all set! I wish it was that easy for me and my BMs

@@vancouverpetunia  That's great! Sometimes parents can be reasonable..... although mine love to tell me how much I'm NOT!!! lol

@calgarybride2015  No way! lol That's whacked! We have Nexus cards which means we pretty much sail through BUT it also means we're completely subject to random searches so we don't play around. It's not worth it. We stick to what we're allowed which is why I've been trying to work out how to get my dress home!! lol But I'll keep you in mind when I bring out maracas home in September!! lol I'm only bringing 12 back so wish me luck!! lol

@@vancouverpetunia Love the outfits and glad you had a good time! I like the light blue shirt! Hope you did well on pricing. I'm sooooooo looking forward to shopping next week! I want to hit Tommy Bahama for Doug and see what I can pick up. I have my eye on one of their camp shirts in a beautiful shade of turquoise. Hubby has given me one day next week in amongst all of the other things we have planned so I'm already making a list! The Tanger Outlet there even has a FLIP FLOP STOP!!!! I'm already in heaven and we aren't even in Charleston yet!! We're taking our boogie boards but we aren't sure we're even going to be able to get into the water! They've already had one sighting of a tagged shark close to shore, never mind the stranger danger ones that haven't been tagged! That's a bummer about the campfire. That's the one thing I look for when we camp! Sit there with a glass of wine. Love it!

@@acw271011 Yes, everything was on sale! The pants were $50 USD. Jeff's shirt was $30 USD. Not sure what the guys paid for their shirts, but they were marked down. The sandals were buy one get one half off (one guy bought two pairs), so they were $25 USD in the end. I think it came to just over $100 USD for each of them. Not bad!

We did go to Tommy Bahama and we found that the shirts there were very wide. Jeff is very tall and slim, so he needs a more tailored fit. Depending on Doug's physique, it may or may not be a good place for him. I also didn't see the shirts in the store that I saw online, although we didn't look too hard once we saw how big the shirts were. I think I was also looking at a camp shirt in blue.

That sucks about the sharks! Stay safe out there :)

@vancouverpetunia  Wow - you did do well!! Absolutely can't complain about those prices! Doug still has his sandals from when we got married and hardly wears them so that he can keep them "clean" (don't know what that's supposed to mean lol) so I figure he'll take those to Mexico. I suspect at least renewal wise he'll be in shoes then switch after. He's constantly in Havaianas that we got in Jamaica duty free in the airport and he loves them. He wore Tommy Bahama when we got married so yep - he definitely fits their regular sizes. He is quite broad in the shoulders and even though he's lost 25lbs he's like me - he's old. It gets harder to get skinny again when you get to our age. lol They may have changed their sizing now but I know they used to make a "slim fit". Maybe they aren't selling them anymore. I love their stuff, just not their prices.

@@acw271011 Honestly we didn't look too hard or ask about slim fit at TB. Everything just looked big. Plus almost every white shirt I picked up looked nice on the front and then had ridiculous, massive embroidery of a parrot or a cigar or something on the back LOL, so we just left.  :P

Yeah I know. Some of their shirts are really funky! You look at them and wonder who would wear them! I found a really nice camp shirt online in this beautiful Caribbean turquoise. I absolutely love it. Then I found another one that reminded me of the pink you get in sunsets and I love that one too but hubby put the kybosh on it. No pink. He likes to think he's a very manly man so won't wear pink! lol I mean Doug has a couple of the flower shirts - I call them hawaiian - and they look good on him. I really do like them for casual wear. A couple of them are silk. He wore one when we got married (his choice and toned down a bit). I like it on him but it wasn't really what I wanted him to wear. We go to do his suit next month for Mexico and my gut is just telling me he's going to fuss lol He's "oh yeah that's great" now but just wait..... lol

You really did well in getting the guys dressed - both for style and price. I think they're going to look great!

Wedding Dreams

Well, I guess this wedding is officially taking over my life. I'm starting to have dreams about the wedding. I had a nightmare-ish one a few weeks ago where I was at the resort with the wrong dress, which didn't bother me as much as the black bra & underwear I was supposed to wear with it!

Then last night, I was hanging out with @@snswedding2016 (!?!?) and you were showing me your wedding favors or OOT bags or something. LOL! I think we were at a restaurant. Jeff was with me, Sean was with you, and there was another couple too - I feel like someone else from this forum, but don't remember who. Not that it looked like you, not that I even really know what you look like hahaha (I haven't looked at your wedding thread photos recently!) But it was you. Hilarious and bizarre.

hahahaha this is hillarious! I've had the same dreams too! This past weekend I dreamt it was like the week or so before our wedding. And I've been growing hair out (soo.. frustrating), anyways and I dreamt my FI burnt off my hair :o (no idea why on earth he would do that). But in the dream I got so mad at him and was like " DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW EXPENSIVE EXTENTIONS ARE???" hahahahhaa. Its so funny how we get so into our wedding planning that it takes over even our dreams :P

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
