@@vancouverpetunia sorry to hear that you are having wedding guest booking issues. That's so annoying especially now that you're getting close! I'm sure it will all work itself out - somehow it always does!

You are in great shape - you'll have all of those items checked off in no time!!

Have an amazing time at your bachelorette this weekend!! It sounds like it really fun night!

Good ol' booking drama! I can definitely relate. We had a few guests who were indecisive..we even had two guests that backed out after they paid (the week of the trip) for also.. somewhat valid reasons.

Try not to let it bother you because in the end I really didn't pay attention to who wasn't there.. I didn't think of them at all in fact. It your week and you guys are going to have an absolute blast with everyone :)

Excited to hear how your bachelorette goes! I also opted out of the cheesy penis theme haha. I even went as far as telling my girls that I didn't want a veil, sash etc.. I just didn't want the attention.. although somehow people still knew! lol

You will have a blast :)

haha I probably would have preferred not to be dressed up but my girls were so excited to go all out and since I didn't ask them to help much with the planning, I didn't want to take it away from them. lol! I just took one for the team and let them put me in a veil, sash, boa...oh and there were penis straws and shot glasses  ;)! @ is right though...people just have a radar for bachelorette parties though...they always find you!

It's funny - I have two friends planning this (MOH and BM live out of town), and they don't know each other. They are very different people. The one is low key like me and is trying to keep things in check. The other one, if she had her way, would have me all dressed up, doing "buck a suck" scavenger hunts on a bar crawl. LOL Sounds like it will be pretty tame. The low key friend told the other one not to dress me up, but I will be okay with a boa or something simple (I once attended a bachelorette party where the bride was dressed in an old second hand wedding dress!). I hear there will be some games, which hopefully will be fun and not too ridiculous. I will report back!

As for the guest drama, it's not all that bad, compared to what many of you ladies have gone through. It's just annoying and I was in a bad mood in general yesterday, so it really bugged me. Thanks for letting me rant - feeling better now! What's interesting about one of the "maybe" couples who hasn't responded is that they had their own destination wedding a few years back (which is where we met), so you would think they of all people would understand how annoying their non-responsiveness is!

I managed to hit the tanning salon for the first time in 20 years last night. I ended up with a couple of red "strips" and a white line on my back, which doesn't seem good. Anyone with more experience in this care to comment? Otherwise it seemed fine with no real visible changes. I did 6 minutes in their second lowest strength lie-down bed. I know nothing about this stuff...

Erin feel free to vent anytime! I think booking issues is something we can all relate to so we all understand. And I was in the same situation with Derrick's cousin. She didn't rsvp at all and you'd think she'd appreciate the importance since she just got married last year! Guess some people just don't have the same courtesy they expect from other people.

I'm sure you'll have a blast at your stagette, can't wait to hear stories! I had the typical sash, veil and penis accessories (including a penis gun) but I'm an attention whore lol When else can I get away with holding a penis gun? Lol

@@vancouverpetunia Could it have maybe been the way you were laying in the tanning bed? Do they have any stand-up beds? Those tend to make things more even.

When you're laying down in a tanning bed sometimes depending on how you're laying it can come out patchy.. My underarms were the perfect example and I can see it in all my pics lol. My underarms were white and the rest of me was really dark.. It was because I was laying with my arms against my side every time I went tanning. Just something to consider!

Good point @ I always use the stand up bed for that reason. I started tanning a couple weeks ago, reminds me I need to get back at it!

@@vancouverpetunia I'm sorry to hear about you're booking drama, I think every one goes through it in some way. I'm at the point where I'm getting things together, still have 5 more people that are apparently booking... There's only so much you can do, as long as you, your fiancé and the important people are there that's all that will matter

I also agree about position. I call them racer stripes down the sides lol

When I'm in a lay down I change positions. So one arm I bend up over my head for half and then switch. My leg I also bend and switch just so I don't get the stripes down the side of my body and between my legs.

But If you were red you were in too long from my experience.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
