Photographer Ideas (on a budget)

Hello all! I am looking for a photographer, and fast! I would like to do a trial photo session while I am on my scouting trip at the end of this month. I am looking for a few recommendations in the $350-$450 per hour range. Trying my best to stay within the budget! I understand there are several fantastic photogs that chage much more with a very high minimum and their profiles make it tempting to splurge. But I am resisting! I am looking for the best in my price range...any thoughts??

Thanks!

Have you thought about flying in a photographer? If you are thinking 4-6 hours with the budget you listed above that is $1400-2700. Plus a trash the dress which would be around another $500.

Personally I found an amazing photographer for well within that budget and that includes the cost to fly him in and have him stay for four nights.

Would you consider doing that?

we're considering gilda badillo and her a la carte package (per hour rate, which includes all your shots on cd --not just 100-200 per hour, but ALL of them! -- with the rights to them) is $350 an hour. if you want to PM me, i'll send you the rest of her rates list i just got from her yesterday. she's really been nice so far and answers quickly.

(provided you dont have the same wedding date as me, haha) ;-)

Me too! I am working with Gilda and Bradley and D!no. It seems like they all have good work out there and are very responsive and in my price range. I am undecided on video at this point which seems very expensive. Although D!no will offer photo and video as a package which makes it slightly more reasonable. Bradley seems much more experienced. It is such a tough choice.

I guess I am lucky because I am going to be doing a one hour session on my scouting trip so I have some photos for our engagement announcement, save the dates, website, and most importantly for the BDW forum!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
