@pddcmc  Awww - well better than never!  lol  I'm starting to think that our guests probably won't get really excited until like 2 weeks before we leave.  It's all I can think or talk about but everyone is like chill.

My FI just says "yes" or "no" to different ideas On my brooch bouquet he had a little thought about putting the flowers in the back which I ended up using; but other than that he just says he likes what I decide!! LOL

We actually had dinner with a bunch of friends last weekend and they are ALL SO EXCITED. I was actually jealous that they get to be excited because all I can think about is my to-do list.

I mean, I'm not NOT excited, but I won't have that carefree excited feeling until I get on the plane...that is just how I roll. Although if I get some of my packing done early that will help. I hate packing and I'm already dreading it.

Mine wasn't too involved for the majority of the planning, but now that's getting super close he's definitely helping more!

@becky98 I'm in the exact same position as you - random little things (like the schedule and thank you note in the welcome bag) he gets very opinionated about and other things he's like whatever you want!  I am never quite sure how he'll react to most planning items, so I always ask his opinion and I'm usually surprised at the answer  :)  But I'm glad he's voicing his opinion and making decisions so it's both of our day and not all my choices!

And I'm loving the term bridezillo  :)

My Fi is interested in the artist parts of our wedding. If he could just go to town will all the artistic elements I think he would be in his own personal heaven. I have to keep reminding him that we are still 7 months out, and we have time to do all that stuff. In regards to everything else, he offers up his opinion from time to time. One thing I have to say is that if I directly ask him a question he will have a full conversation with me about it.

My fiance is just showing up for the wedding! Everytime I ask for his input or opinion, he just shrugs and says "It's your wedding, whatever you want babe" haha! It's nice in some aspects, but gets frustrating at times!

My fiancé is soooo not a planner….hence why I was so impressed with his proposal! He planned it all out and by himself no less. I run everything by him but he would let me just go to town if I wanted to. I'm way more concerned about our budget than he is. He's always like "when are we going to have another opportunity for your mom and my mom to get drunk on a beach together for a week" lol! He usually tells me to just buy it and we'll figure it out.  ;) This is why I feel like we're a good team, we are very different but definitely compliment each other. I get him organized and he calms me down when things don't go exactly according to my plan (I'm very type A).

If I left it up to him he would pack for vacations in a laundry hamper…he's done it before (prior to us being together of course) haha! That idea alone stresses me out just thinking about it! LOL!

Mine was a bit of both, but more hands off.

He had a large say in the big decisions like the resort, dates, guest list, etc. but let me take the reins on the rest.  I would ask his opinion when needed but sometimes his responses, while funny looking back, were rather annoying at the time.

Like I would bring up their outfits and he would say he wanted to wear banana hammocks! lol! men!   I finally had to sit down and tell him that when I come to him for an opinion it is because I can't make the call on my own, for one reason or another, and I need his serious opinion.  It caused me some stress, but we worked thru it.

I did a lot on my own, but when I actually asked him to help he would.  He helped make the invitations - I hate measuring and cutting so he did that and near the end he helped a lot with assembling the OOT cups and tying tags on fans, etc.

I think I like he left lots to me, not sure I could of handled another me hahah!!!  I liked being able to make most of the calls and just getting his opinion when I couldn't decide.  that said, he always knew what I was doing, he just liked it all / is laid back that we didn't bump heads on that stuff.

I guess everyone is different.

I was speaking to my soon to be MIL the other day and even she was surprised at how involved her son wants to be, and thought he would be happy for me to do the planning.  Her advice was "be clever and let him feel he's making decisions!"  lol

When I told her about the guys suits and how he said he'll take care of it, she said that he'll come to me for advice soon and again just to let him think he's the one who decided.  So I'll continue to do my research and when he doesn't know what to do or needs my opinion, I'll be ready :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
