We Leave For Jamaica In 30 Days!

Recommended Posts

AHHH!! it's coming up so quick!! I think I have everything sorta planned out......but in the rush of this next few weeks I also don't want to forget anything!

What are you ladies planning on doing your last 30 days; or did do? Just wanting to make sure I'm on the right page with everything

I did things like make appts for hair, nails, waxing etc. Final dress fitting and pick up. I also got all my last crafts done and started packing what I was done with. Go thru summer clothes and wash up what needs freshening up. Any immunizations you need or get meds you plan to pack. Ensure you have all your paperwork and receipts in order. That type of stuff :)

I'm so jealous and not at the same time! I'm just over 2 months still and I'm starting to feel a lot of stress from the pile of to-dos and nowhere near enough time to get them all done. I really plan to be doing packing and beauty stuff my last 30 days - so lots of shopping for new clothes and packing them away!

Plus getting organized on which vendors we need to pay how, how much money we need to bring with us (including tipping), organizing all documentation we need with us like estimates from the resort, vendor agreements, etc.

We also have to do placecards for entree selection for both our welcome dinner and our reception and I'm sure we won't be able to accomplish that until the last couple weeks.

I'm doing a "sit where you like" at my reception. So not doing place cards LOL! I believe it's 8-10 to a table so only going to need about 5 tables plus our head table. (4 bridesmaids and 4 groomsmen) I need to print off all my emails from my vendors and estimates from my WC ect.

I think I'm starting to actually stress less the closer it gets!(I keep reading forums and it's really helped) I'm realizing that everything is coming together the way I wanted it to. Can't wait for the pre wedding meeting with my WC @@beckys98

I know! I bet it feels so exciting and maybe a bit overwhelming? I have a feeling i'm going to be stressed as it get's much closer, but that's just my OCD and wanting everything to work out. I worry too much!!

I can't wait to see your pictures and hear how everything goes. Do you have much left to plan or do?

I actually felt more overwhelmed 2 weeks ago when I didn't have the DJ fully booked!! But now things seem to be settling into place nicely It really helps to read previous brides testimonials; helped me relax a bit more haha!

Thank you @ I can't wait to see how it all turns out!! Just need to talk with the florist and print off all and any email correspondences and pack haha!! Need to make sure I have everything together and pick up my dress; as well as buy a few more bathing suits still figuring out music as well!! Any ideas for bridesmaids and groomsmen walking down the aisle haha??

My wedding is June 20th and I know that everything will fall into place but there are a few things that are still up in the air like getting info from our WC about the DJ or music rental equipment.  Everything takes forever to hear back.  I'm totally patient but I also want to feel like I'm finalizing things.

I feel like I need a book to write down the things I've done and finalize because I might forget.

I've seen a lot of advice given about starting to pack early which is smart and I someone suggested starting to organize papers, receipts and emails so that you have them organized for when you meet with you WC and also for your own peace of mind.

Don't forget - even if you are having "sit wherever you like" there will need to be a simple way for the guests to be served the right entree if you are having a served meal vs a buffet.  Color-coded cards work well and are fairly easy.

I have a 500 page notebook dedicated to my checklists, guest list, need to do's, what is already set in stone and so on! My advice is stay in contact with your WC at least 2-3 times a week! Nekeisha and I talk at least that amount if not more about my plans and ideas I'm not saying I have absolutely everything planned to a T but it's as close as I can get it living in Canada with a wedding in Jamaica

I'm also going to print off everything I have and color code it in a binder based on vendor, receipts and WC plans

And packing early is a very good idea! Also let's me know if I need more luggage or space for other things! @@veryvalentine

Our dinner is actually served by waiters al la carte...so all guests get to pick whatever they want off of the steakhouse menu for dinner. We will actually be waited on instead of just food placed in front of our guests @@TAkathy

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
