Planning The Reception!

Recommended Posts

I had a really crappy morning so far but I received an email from the wedding consultant at the resort. She mistakenly charged me with a private reception for our wedding instead of the semi-private. Since we have already paid the invoice and she asked if we want to keep the event private or she could refund us the amount. We decided to go ahead to go forward with the private reception. :D  I am super stoked for this because I really wanted to do the private reception but we couldn't get it at that time. We chose the oceanfront gazebo as our private reception. Instead of the 1.5 hour of the semi-private reception, we will have a duration of 3 hours with a sound system, servers, open bar and the dinner. Ahhh, I can't wait!  :)

I'm planning to spend my entire work day reading through the reception posts on this forum and planning the reception.  :P If you have any advice or tips, I would love to hear them!

@@hellosassypants Hope you had a fun day of planning!! We're doing our private reception poolside. I ordered round white paper lanterns for the trees, and little votive candles for the tables to go with the centerpieces. I think my fiancé threw in some tiki torches but for the life of me I can't actually remember if they were on the final paperwork  :)

Only a few more weeks to go!!!!

That's exciting! Congrats, that's a nice mistake! haha.

That's what I'm saying! LOL, the beginning of the email was "Dear N & C, I hope this email finds you great!". YEAH IT DID!  :D

Now I really have to get a play list together and a bunch of other things. Woohoo!

That's great!!!!   Even though you paid for it, it's like a special surprise you didn't expect.

We did our entrance and then speeches right away,Right after we had our dinner. After dinner we went person to person to introduce ourselves and say something about ourselves - was really just an AA meeting, was hilarious. It ended with my husband and I so we got a chance to say thank you to everyone for coming.  Then we danced for a couple hours, then we cut the cake, then we danced some more.

I had a 6 hour reception though so my times would be more scattered than a 3 hour reception.

I liked our lay out though, so it may give you an idea of how to schedule things just closer together.

Your wedding celebration is really essential. Not only is it a position where your visitors go after the wedding to renew and appreciate some food and have a dancing - It's also the position that delivers people from two different family members and probably societies together, developing a long term connection between the two.

To accomplish this, it's essential that you select, beautify and arrange your wedding reception effectively, so to help you we've come up with some amazing information, regardless of what price range, design or concept you have.

It is really good and special surprise for you. Last year in the month of December, we had our private reception party at the Addison of Boca Raton. The location itself is very pretty, the giant Banyan tree really makes a statement in the courtyard. So, enjoy your reception and have a great fun at the place.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
