2Nd Degree Burns And Less Than 3 Months Away Til My Wedding

Recommended Posts

Wow, so I was super frustrated this week because I was totally out of commission with bronchitis.  I missed the entire week from work.  I'm still not really even better and in fact now i'm worse off.  Yesterday, I was a genius and I decided to boil hot water and vicks to be able to breathe it in and relieve my congestion a little.  I couldn't breathe and nothing was working.  Well, probably because I was so weak, the pot of boiling water with vicks slipped out of my hands and landed on my tummy and legs.  The FI rushed me from work to take me to the hospital.  I have some nasty 2nd degree burns and so much pain and I'm so bummed out.  I was already feeling so behind in my planning.  ugh.  Anyway, i just wanted to vent.

Just a question to any brides that have already been married in the Mayan Riviera.  Do you need a costco membership to shop at the costco in that area?  Would the canadian membership be valid?  Does anyone know if they have fresh flowers there?  And has anyone sorted out where you can buy sparklers in that area?  Walmart?  Chedraui?

Thanks!  Totally frustrated.

@@veryvalentine omg are you ok? I'm so sorry to hear about your bronchitis and most of all, your second degree burn. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a speedy recovery for you. You still have three months for the pain to subside and lungs to clear up. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers

That sounds horrible! I would say to slather in coconut oil three times a day to get it all healed up before leaving to Mexico!

As for Costco, your Canadian membership is valid anywhere in the world! I think you might be able to go online and people order flowers as well. I'm not positive though as we did minimal flowers that were included in our wedding package(still looked absolutely beautiful) and we didn't use any sparklers. Good luck! And speedy healing!

Oh my goodness - sorry to hear about what happened! Make sure to take care of yourself! Burns are nothing to fool around with. It all needs to be kept very clean.

As @@candle23 said, your Costco membership is good anywhere in the world. I tried to find out about fresh flowers but couldn't get an answer.

Now apparently there is also a Sam's Club in PDC. We have a membership since we spend so much time in the US. BUT if you're Canadian, you can get a single day pass for free to shop there since there are no Sam's Club stores in Canada.

While I was digging around I did find something that says Mega sells fresh flowers. They're located on 30th Ave.

Hugs. Sorry to hear about your burn. I hope you are ok. I agree though - with the right ointment they usually heal nicely. A coworker burnt her arm pretty bad with a pot of boiling water. I dressed it at work for her daily. I thought it looked 'bad' but a month or so later you couldn't even tell she had been burnt. I was shocked.

Hang in there.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
