Las Caletas Bride

Hello all! My fiance, Brendan and I were looking into Las Caletas for our wedding next year. It turns out my grandmother is very ill (was diagnosed with cancer 2 days ago) and I feel we need to stay local. We ultimately decided to have the wedding here in Brooklyn next November. (11/1/200cool.gif This all happened within a few days and I didn't just want to ignore the fact that I joined the forum. I was awaiting approval.

I'd like to talk about Las Caletas for those brides who are having it there. Brendan and I went to Puerto Vallarta 2 years ago and we had the most romantic, intimate, fun time we ever had! We literally cried when we left! We did the Rythym of the Night tour to Las Caletas and had dinner there on the beach. It was so beautiful. We fell in love with it. Great choice for a wedding. The food was good and the atmosphere...priceless. It was unforgettable. This is a great choice for a wedding. The sunset, the stars at night. Just amazing. I may not go back there for my wedding but I will definitely go back one day.

In downtown Puerto Vallarta, I'd like to recommend El Panorama restaurant. The view is amazing and the food was excellent. It is high in the hills (the cab ride was so much fun) The sunset, breathtaking. It overlooks all of downtown PV. When it's dark, you see all of the lights. There is also a photographer there to take your picture while the sunsets behind you. I believe her name is Marisa and she sits there with her mother. They were great. I tried to attach those pictures but they seem to be too big.

I would also recommend Si Senor. Excellent authentic Mexican food. Service was so welcoming. Beautiful decor and the margaritas...yummy.

We stayed at a timeshare in Nuevo Vallarta so I am not familiar with the hotels and resorts.

Thanks for your time and maybe I can still be a part of this forum even though I am no longer having a destination wedding. Lord knows I still need help! :)

Welcome Melissa! Sorry to hear about your grandmother and I hope she gets well :o( You are making a good decision and you can always visit Las Caletas again. I married there this past June (also after having been on the ROTN tour) and have nothing but amazing things to say about it. Priceless is a great word to describe it. BTW you can always rent it out for a vow renewal or a kick ass anniversary party!

We can still help you plan your Brooklyn wedding, I'm in Cali so to me Brooklyn is a destination wedding...lol We have some awesome NY members too that I'm sure can help if you need it. Happy planning :o)

Melissa - I am sorry about grandma, that has to be tough. I'm sure you're doing the right thing for you and your family.

I was married in June (right after Jamy/starchild!) at Las Caletas. Andn you're right - it was absolutely THE most amazing experience. It was everything we were looking for ... we had never seen Caletas until the day of our wedding.

You could always go back there for a vow renewal!

Paul and I want to go back just to go on the day tour, or the Rythems of the Night - and we will, hopefully soon! If you're interested - I have all of my pictures in the links in my siggy.

There are quite a few NY gals on the forum - they may or may not see this thread since it's titled "Las Caletas" (and that's OUR specialty!) so if you do have some NY questions, maybe post a new thread here ... http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/mainland-us/

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
