Hello!

I am getting married at the Riu Montego Bay May 6th,2015

As I stated in the title I was adopted at the age of 9 by a single mother. My uncle has been my father figure and has helped me through a lot in my life! A lot of the traditional saints talk about father daughter situations or first born situations lol. I was thinking of doing the song "My Wish" but am open to other suggestions!

That's a beautiful song! I'm personally dancing to the song "Daughters" by John Mayer, but there were a lot of really nice choices for father/daughter songs. Originally we were going to dance to Butterfly kisses, but it made us cry too much when we listened to it.. so we decided to try and keep things happier.. knowing that it's still our song.

That's an awesome choice!
I had chosen my wish originally because it didn't talk about birth or being a daughter; since he isn't my father just the closest thing I've ever had for one
The other song I had thought of since we are both target shooters and I grew up on the farm was "cleaning this gun", which would be a fun song for both of us
I just know I'm going to tear up no matter the song since my life wasn't what it was meant to be until I was 9 and finally met my mother; and was accepted by a family. There aren't many songs that can represent that!

No matter what song you choose, you're going to make it special.

I've actually decided to include my mother as well because she's also equally as special to me as my father.. So i've gotten a DJ friend of mine to mix in "Stevie Wonder - isn't she lovely".. My plan is to surprise them both. While i'm dancing with my father to John Mayer, about 3/4 of the way through the song Isn't she lovely will start and i'm going to run off and grab my mom and bring her up. The three of us can have our moment together.

It's a really special song for my parents because it was playing on the radio in the hospital the day I was born.

That is so beautiful!

I was thinking of doing something similar but my mom would hate it; she doesn't like being the focal point of things. So I was thinking of saying a speech incorporating the fact that I wouldn't be who I am today without her and that she took a chance 13 years ago adopting an older child; but by doing so saved my life and gave me a chance. I don't even know what I looked like as a baby! Earliest picture I have of myself is from when I was 6 years old. A very unique situation so I just want my song to be unique as well
