Snswedding2016 Planning Thread - Jan 9 2016 (Azul Fives)

Recommended Posts

oh my gosh I can't believe this is coming up so quickly!!

question for you - what are you doing to show the allergy restrictions on the tables? I have 2 girls who are gluten free and I have no clue. I am not making escort cards, just a sitting chart so I am at a loss.

Your days leading up look identical to mine lol!!! Wax, nails, pick up dress, etc. I cannot wait!!

Food-Allergy-Cards.pdf@@Smellsey I know I can't believe it either! My last day at work is today!! woohoo! :)

I was originally doing escort cards but now I'm just doing a seating chart. I'm going to probably make escort cards just for those with dietary restrictions as well as the kids. All of our kids have pre-selected their meals so I'll have to indicate them. I was going to use stickers on their escort cards (ie. a plant for vegetarians etc).

I also found this online - this might help (see attached)

Oh this is awesome! Thank you!

Our kids did not pre-select the meals. She told me to do it there..

@@Smellsey our WD said to pick the kids meals when we get there as well - she said they'd likely change their minds day of. @@snswedding2016 - did your WD ask you to pre-pick or did you do that to ensure it was taken care of?

@@ashhtayy yes, sorry for not getting back to you sooner! things have been hectic over here with the planning and finishing up work. Yes, I worked with Judy at Bloom Bridal - she was great to work with and sends you a pic of the flowers for approval before she ships it.

Also, my first WC at AF said to wait until we got there for children's menu selections but then my second WC said it would be easier to have them pre-selected. I don't know if that's because we're doing a plated meal or if it is just a WC preference. It was easy enough though. I just posted it on our Facebook group to all of the parents and they sent them back right away.  :) Most kids picked the same thing - cheeseburgers and grilled cheese and lots of fries lol!

@@snswedding2016 oh my gosh don't say sorry - I was just excited to say I reached out. I hope I hear back soon :)

Who is your WD again? My first email was from Emma (I think) and now we have Maribel.

Ya it is neat! it is also great I think because we can compare notes with weddings so close together. Plus - we can both say "they let her do it" if they say no to something LOL!

I am trying to start packing. This may be the hardest part..

    • I have stayed at Dreams La Romana and Dreams Dominicus.  The two resorts are very different in style and decor. A few comparison points are below and fact sheets are attached for both.   Both resorts are approx 45 minutes from Punta Cana airport, close proximity to Saona Island, Catalina Island and Altos de Chavon. Top championship golf courses in the Caribbean are just minutes away including Teeth of the Dog, Dye Fore, The Links and La Estancia – all designed by world-famous Pete Dye. Restaurants are similar at both resorts.  Both offer the Explorers Club for Kids.  Dreams Dominicus  Brand new resort and in 2016 488 rooms (however additional construction was underway) More contemporary style & decor Good beach area Rooms were very nice Preferred Club located in main lobby and adjacent to main pool & beach front Food was good Center plaza area with nighttime entertainment Main lobby is small, but outdoor bar off lobby is nice Dreams La Romana Originally built in 2003 & opened as Dreams La Romana in 2008 756 rooms Recently renovated and new preferred club adults only lounge & pool added  Rooms are more traditional Caribbean decor Grounds are very lush and tropical Good beach area food was good    Dreams Dominicus fact sheet.pdf Dreams La Romana fact sheet.pdf
    • My sister has done it but with the destination wedding, only super close family members and friends came since it was expensive and farther. It was great though.
