Happy Anniversary!

The weather in Toronto last night was beautiful, and your food looks delicious (though I'm craving cake now, lol). Looks like it was a great night :)

Thanks!  :) @@krystalball and @veryvalentine

It was a great night to walk around ...we needed it after our meal lol! That cake was to die for - soooo good! It was a mocha ice cream cake with cookie crumble crust and chocolate, caramel and almonds drizzled over top! I could go for another piece right now. haha.

Oooh, that sounds so good! I have a birthday coming up in a few months - would you mind sharing where you went for dinner?

If I get impatient I might just propose a fancy dinner date for no reason so I can have some awesome cake!

@@krystalball actually it wasn't anywhere too fancy - we just went to the Keg but we went to the Keg Mansion (so pretty in there). The cake (if you go) is called the Billy Miner's pie.

Some of our other favourite places to go are:

Black Hoof (a little more adventurous - they have some really interesting items on their menu. It's a smaller place and they don't take reservations but great food and fun atmosphere with great cocktails.)

Joey's (it's a chain but we always love anything we order there and I've had some pretty great desserts there too!)

If you like Thai food - Pai, Sukho Thai & Khao san road are all amazing and owned by the same couple.

I could go on and on... can you tell I'm getting hungry sitting at my desk at work - haha!

@@snswedding2016 Happy 4 year anniversary! I love the billy miner pie! It's our tradition to go to the keg on our anniversary. Our anniversary coincides with the annual Dine Out festival here in Vancouver and a 3 course meal at the Keg is $40. So good and such a great deal

We're still trying to figure out what to get our groomsmen as we have a real mix of guys with varying tastes. I did find something small to include in their gifts this weekend though. They are collapsable stainless steel shot glasses from Amazon. Super cute, fun and for $3.95 each (free shipping)…how can you go wrong?  :)

One of the items we're debating are these vintage map cufflinks. I contacted the etsy seller and she said she could make them with maps of playa del carmen. I think they would be really cute but Sean doesn't think most of the guys will use them…which he may have a point, but I still think they look cute! lol He's thinking about it and may come around on the idea.

Wooow I can't believe how far you've gotten into the planning process!!!! I should feel ashamed of myself. My wedding should be in August 2016 and I've been researching since summer of last year. I am still a bit undecided about resorts but the Sky wedding at Azul Fives is very appealing to me. The costs add up so quickly there. I am going to get some inspiration from you since you have some awesome ideas. Thank you sooo much for sharing!!!! Please keep posting updates so you can assist flip flopping brides like myself

@ Thanks but please don't feel ashamed. All of our planning journeys are unique. I know yours will come together beautifully! :)  I kinda started planning like crazy right out of the gate but it has definitely slowed down a bit now. My busy time at work is in the summer-fall and then we get married next winter! I'm trying to get as much done now as I can. I will definitely keep you posted with all the planning updates! This forum is such a great resource and I love how everyone comes together to help each other out. I don't know where I would be if I hadn't found this site.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
