@@Meandhim I have been so MIA on BDW for the last little while and just now trying to catch up on everything. I just wanted to send a big big hug over to you for everything that is going on.

As for all of your DIY projects - everything looks amazing!!! You've done such a great job! I am so severely behind. I've taken on way too many projects right now and the wedding planning is the one that is lagging behind. Hopefully I'll get my act together soon!

The logolenses sunglasses were a hit with our party hahah :) I still have a few around. They were great for excursions and being on the beach. I didn't care if they got lost or broken. But I would have cried if my expensive ones did :P.

I love the table numbers, very cute :)

@@calgarybride2015 Thanks :)

@@acw271011 Yes they are Logolenses! They are pretty good quality... I was surprised.

@ Thanks!

@@snswedding2016 I've been MIA too... Trying to get some stuff done. Thanks for the virtual hug! Don't worry you have lots of time to get your stuff together!

@@TinkerSofi Thanks! I got the logo lenses idea from you! I hope my guests enjoy them as much as yours did :)

So Update...

74 days until I leave for Punta Cana!

First of all my Nan... They gave her a blood transfusion and The Doc said she was very close to having a major stoke. I don't really understand the whole blood count thing...But since the transfusion she is feeling much better and the doc and my family seem to think that she will last well past my wedding now ... Yea! Fingers crossed! Thank you to all the ladies who gave me virtual hugs and sent positive thoughts it was really appreciated and it must of worked :)

So got my boutonnières in the mail today.

I love them...My friends dad made them for me :) :)

I also compiled a bunch of pictures of my guest and I'm going have a meet the guests album, so everyone can start to recognize the faces... Got this idea from @@snswedding2016 :) here's an example:

My mom and dad. So in the description I will put their names what they do and how they know us... I have one done for everyone so far except my little brother I need him to send me some pictures of him and his GF they don't have Facebook.

I also started my message in a bottle favours finally

post-268499-144176868192_thumb.jpg

I still have to glue the cork and attach the strings and thank you charm.

Got the FI's shirt and belt this weekend... Now all that's left is his tie. Also got my legs waxed for the first time ever... Gotta say not as bad as I thought...lol

I guess the next thing I have to do is get my dress altered... Is now a good time or should I wait until October? Any thoughts?

I am so glad to hear that your Nan is feeling better. She is such a strong woman and I hope she lives well past any of the doctor's estimates.

As for your wedding planning, wow you've done a great job. I love the boutonnieres, they're so original and really classy looking. I'm gonna have to steal yours (and @snswedding2016) guestbook idea. I think it's such a great idea to have something like that in the welcome bag.

And you must be one patient woman to fill all those bottles. They look beautiful, such a great idea.

As for the dress alterations, I don't think I'm a good person to ask. Our wedding is in January and I'm already gonna go in for fittings next month. The seamstress I trust with my dress will be away in Europe for two months (November and December) so I had no choice but to do it early. Well I suppose I could have found another seamstress but I'm loyal to her LOL

So glad your nan is doing better :)

Everything looks fantastic!! @@tygrrlily also did a 'meet the guests' handout. I stole her template and started it but ran out of time. It's a fantastic idea :)

I think for alternations 2-3 months in advance is recommended as you usually go for 2-3 fittings. I dropped mine off oct 23 and picked it up jan 10. I'd say sooner than later so she has ample time :)

Time is going quickly!

I'm so glad to hear the news about your nan! That is fantastic.

The boutonnière are really cool and unique! Love the idea. I also love your favors! Super similar to my escort cards! I love the message in a bottle idea for anything. I think it's so cute and fitting to a tropical wedding! Well done!

Thanks Ladies! Yikes...I guess I better get on top of the whole dress alts situation! Ok that's now on the list for this week!

I got the idea for my boutonnières at Ted Baker London... We went in there looking for a vest for my FI months ago and they had these fly boutonnières on some of the jackets. My FI thought it was awesome because he loves fishing and he asked if we could do that for the wedding. I started looking around on etsy for some. When I was home in July my friends dad had made her a pair of fly earrings so I asked home if he could make my boutonnières and he did! I think they are awesome :)

The message in a bottle was not that hard... Made 30 in about 15 mins :) I had my friend bring me back the sand from Punta Cana when she was there in April so it's the real deal :)

@@calgarybride2015 could you send me the template for the guests page?... Im having trouble putting mine together!

    • Hi all! I know this is an old thread... but just in case there are other destination wedding brides out there with the same question, I thought I would answer! My guy and I live in Texas and just got our marriage license (yay!). We are getting married in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. The Dallas County clerk informed us that we can get our marriage license in Texas, bring it and a Texas-registered officiant to Mexico, have the ceremony in Mexico, then bring the marriage license back to Texas to file and it will be LEGAL in the US.  In  other words, we can legally get married in Mexico using our Texas marriage license and officiant (who is a family friend), then file the paperwork when we get home. Where it says 'county in which ceremony was performed' on the license, we just put in Playa del Carmen, Mexico and bam! Married :) I do not know if this is true for other states, but it is CONFIRMED for Texas! I suggest asking the clerk when you register for your marriage license. I am overjoyed that we can have a US-legal marriage in Mexico so our wedding date on our license will be the actual day! NO blood tests, or getting married before or after the trip required!
    • Every Bride spends a lot of time researching and worrying about her perfect wedding dress. While many Indian brides choose the traditional red colour for their bridal gown, a few of them find some different colours to wear on their special day. Here is a description of how to choose an Indian wedding dress that suits your skin tone. 1) Fair complexion: You can choose any shade of blue or bright shades of pink and red. In the shades of blue- select scuba blue or royal blue. Among other colours this season, you can pick up your dress in tangerine.   2) Wheatish complexion Just select those colours which bring out the warmth in your complexion. Some of the best options for you are tangy orange, saffron yellow, vibrant shades of red, mint green and hot pink.   3) Dusky complexion: If you have an olive skin tone, then you can pull off any rich and dark colour quite well. So, the colours like classic blue, marsala, burnt orange and brick red are just perfect for you. Also the metallic silver, gold and bronze will even flatter your face pretty well
    • I will be using the hPage Website Builder to create a free website for our wedding. I am planning to post wedding updates, wedding photos, wedding reminders, and wedding articles regarding our upcoming marriage there. For RSVP, I am using Facebook events since almost all we invited have facebook and it would be easier to get their "yes" or "no" confirmation there. In case anyone is interested as well here's their site: hPage Website Builder - https://www.hpage.com
    • Minimalist wedding bands look so classy and timeless regardless of the venue.
    • It's hard to estimate. Some receptions don't need much decorating because it's already beautiful. Some receptions need lots of decorating. Some receptions also come with extra decorating equipment already.
