Thanks :) Glad you like my thread! I was actually thinking starting an Etsy Store just for fun after the wedding so I could still do wedding stuff...but I didn't really thing anyone would buy it...lol!

Sorry I'm not from Isle-aux-Morts....I'm from Straitsview (Marked Spillars Cove on google maps for some reason)....which is here...pretty close to as far north on the island as you can go...lol!

I'm so glad you had a great time...Come Home Year is definitely the best time to visit a small community because there are a ton of things / parties / people on the go...especially when you are 25 and single...lol...I can't wait it's going to be so fun! Don't get me wrong I love going home any time but most of the time its a small place with not a lot of activity...which I kinda like too...kinda the complete opposite of Toronto. Newfoundland is such a great place...in my heart it is home always no matter where I go...I am fortunate to have grown up there...I spent my childhood climbing cliffs and having adventures.

@@TinkerSofi Thanks! Maybe I will have to think about actually doing it!

Favours:

So I wanted to do a message in a bottle kinda thing so bought Some mini bottle from the Dollaramma. Now I'm torn between which version of the message in the bottle to do.

Favors

The bottles on top are the ones I bought...and the images below are what I was thinking of doing. I had a friend who was in Punta Cana Last week bring me back some Sand from Punta Cana so if I decide to go with the first option it will actually be Punta Cana sand in the bottle. With the other two options people have the choice to fill with sand to bring home or leave as it as is. Everytime I go somewhere I bring home a little sand and a few seashells.

what do you think...I kinda like the middle one with the heart.. or the hanging note...but I think the one with the sand in the bottle maybe more practical...I'm stuck...help?!

Yeah I guess you are right...I think I'm going to use a bakers twine instead of the raffia because I'm going to be using bakers twine for other things....I guess I just like the look of the other ones...I guess I will have to seal the bottle...what would you use? Hot glue? crazy glue? Something else?

I was also thinking of not putting our names, Just "Thank you" and "Punta Cana 2015"...I don't have our names or date on anything...is that weird? Do you think people would like our names and date on some things?

I really like the first choice! I also think it will be the easiest to assemble :D. The other ones are cute too though. I agree with Calgarybride, with the DR sand it would be so fitting :)

I think you could use a little bit of hot glue to secure the tops. Maybe try one first to make sure the hot glue doesn't melt the cork or anything. It should be ok though. I wouldn't even go all the way around the corks with the glue, just two tiny drops will probably do and then squeeze the cork in there as much as you can so the sand doesn't slip through.

I would put your names on the messages because I think it makes it more personalized and memorable :), especially because it's a favour that the get to keep, rather than it being an edible one.

I have some little bottles, they were bigger than the ones you have, they came 5 tied together and I used as little flower vases but anyway, around the neck of the bottle they had baker's twine and it looked really nice so I think yours will look nice too!

Thanks I think the bakers twine should be pretty...I have blue and green. I guess I will try a few testers this weekend...Another question...would you give them to every person...or just to each couple...I have enough for each couple but I just wondering if it's a waste?

I'd be fine getting one for Juan and I if I was a guest. I don't know if everyone shares the same view but I'd think it would be kind of a waste for both of us to get one.

I've been to a wedding where the favour was a wine stopper and we got one as a couple. I thought that was fine :)

Where do you plan to put the favors? In the bags or at the reception table? If on the reception table may be easier to do per person incase your WC mixes up who gets what and someone misses out completely.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
