Hi all!! I'm new here and am needing all the help and advice I can get. I feel like this was supposed to be easier than a traditional wedding but now I'm not so sure. When we decided to go ahead and plan a beach wedding I had all these fabulous ideas and because of costs I feel like everything I wanted isn't going to be possible. I understand compromise but yeesh I feel every detail I'm having to compromise on :(

My dream wedding is on a picturesque beach just before sundown, a lovely spa like resort, with lush grounds and gardens with a fun staff and atmosphere.

We are traveling with all ages so a family friendly resort is a must. My daughters love swimming in the ocean so a nice calm beach is a MUST as they prefer that over a pool and so do I. The resorts I've fallen in love with are way above our price limit, we want guests to come hahaha.

If anyone reading this can guide me in any way I'd really appreciate it as I'm more confused now than ever :(

Welcome and congrats. I'm partial to the resort I just married at hehe. Maybe check it out - grand sirenis riviera maya or Mayan beach. It's decent for price and it also has very reasonably priced wedding packages and extras Good luck!

Oops maybe you are looking at the DR!

I will thank you :) I live in Olds so close to Calgary do you have a travel agent you used whom was able to help you out?

I do. She's in BC. I contacted so many and went into so many offices and she was the only one who helped! :) I can send you her info thru PM.

I have had the same thing happen to me the package price seemed so low and included so much, but it is easy to get out of hand with add-ons. I have gotten great tips on here on cutting corners by bringing things your self such as chair sashes and just remember you don't have to go to crazy on decorations barbecue your destination will be beautiful all on its own!

Hope you find something you like and is within budget!! I completely agree with you - the top reason we went with a DW is to save money (since an average wedding in Canada can be anywhere from $15,000 - 25,000) but it's all adding up really fast! Doesn't help that I'm cheap, haha.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
