Grand Sirenis - From The Uk - Silver Package!

Recommended Posts

@@yycbride2016 thanks for the reply! We will probably end up upgrading a few things, which seems cheaper as you've said! I doubt we will have anywhere near enough guests to have a private ceremony and reception, I doubt there'll be more than 10 people!!!

Anyway we shall see what happens! I'm just fretting about finding a dress at the moment!

Hope all you're planning is going well :)

@@Catface1027 I know how you feel. We are at our last week for people to book into our group rate and i'm still not at 10 rooms yet. Hopefully more people sign up this week so I can save some money and do the free wedding.

I'm also fretting about dress shopping haha. Excpet I'm doing bridesmaid shopping this weekend and becuase I've picked Teal as a color its so hard to find . Wedding dress shopping is next month, we'll see how it all goes! Good luck :)

If it helps most my guests book the last day! Seriously no joke! Send some reminder emails or texts :)

David's will hopefully have your color. They have so many!!! And the quality is great. Was highly impressed.

@@yycbride2016, oh wow you have to get your guests booked quite early! I guess it's different depending on where you book the wedding. How many guests do you need as a minimum?

@@calgarybride2015 is right. The best thing to do is to get on their case and send them lots of reminders!

I did not think that teal would be a difficult colour to find. I'm not bothering with bridesmaids - one reason why we decided to get married abroad! Good luck though!

Do you have any idea yet what you want for your wedding dress?

Well its only early because my seat blocking opens up to the public this saturday and if my guests dont book before then I can't guarnetee them a spot. They can book up until December I think but no spots guarenteed on the plane. I need to have 10 double rooms booked for 7 days :o Hopefully I can manage.

@@calgarybride2015

David's had some beautiful dresses. Their color Oasis was perfect for my dresses but I just hate that they are so expensive when you consider how expensive it is for the bridesmaids to travel to mexico too :( I'm going to keep looking for a little bit but i'm so torn.

@@calgarybride2015 I just was going through your planning thread and the dresses your bridesmaids wore is the one I've also narrowed it down to but in the color oasis. I'm either going to do that dress and also subsidize the cost or find cute black dresses and but a teal sash on them!

@@yycbride2016 My official deadline for my group pricing is this week, but I told everyone it was last week to create some buffer. I still have one couple that hasn't booked yet that I am sure are coming and the majority (including 3 bridesmaids and 2 groomsman) booked within 3 days of the deadline I gave them. Friendly reminder emails seem to do the trick!

My main wedding colour is/was also teal and I just told my girls to find a dress close to the right shade (I pinned a bunch of dresses on Pinterest as examples for them) so they could find one in the right style / price point that suited them. Not sure if that fits in with your style for your wedding, but could be an option. Another option is the infinity dress from thedaintyard, they have a beautiful shade of teal: https://www.etsy.com/ca/listing/194342202/short-straight-hem-teal-green-bridesmaid?ref=shop_home_active_15and the price point is great.

I'm actually struggling with possibly changing my colour as I've heard that teal/turquoise dresses don't photograph well against a water background since it's essentially the same colour.... It's my favourite colour though so I might just say screw it, lol.

I felt the same 100%. I almost went to black because I couldn't find a cost effective dress. Had the same quilt. But I just couldn't let go of my vision. I asked the girls what they were comfortable paying and all said full price. So I paid $40

Of each to feel better. I also got them a nice little BM package too. I feel your pain

Honestly I've seen turquoise done lots - even my men were in this color and honestly it's awesome. It doesn't blend in whatsoever IMO and it's a great color for the beautiful tropics :) I say go for it.

@@krystalball ah yes I looked at that dress and it was my number one pick actually but its the wront color. I ordered a sample and it came back really green. More like a Jade color unfortunately. I probably sound so picky. I dont care if all my accent decorations and what not match (teal, jade, turqoise, aqua, etc) but the only thing I want to match in my wedding is the Bridesmaids with the Groomsmen. But I really really love the idea of them being able to to chose how the dress gets work (strap wise).

I'm considering black dresses (just like @@calgarybride2015 had mentioned) with a teal sash. I just ordered one on etsy so i'll take my MOH out shopping with it when it arrives. I think it would actually look really elegant if the bridesmaids were in black with teal sashes and the groomsmen in black suits with teal ties.

I was also a little consered about how teal would photograph because when I was shopping for bridesmaids dresses this weekend the teal dresses looked blue on my phone camera. So we shall see. I imagine a professional photographer would do a better job than an iPhone haha.

@@yycbride2016   What you describe for the BM's and GM's sounds sharp and would look beautiful!  But if you find yourself truly wanting another color I would suggest just having a conversation with your ladies.  I was worried too but thankfully they were prepared to pay and had no issues with it.  Sometimes we take on more guilt than we need too.   I was this way OMG!

Whatever you decide, it will be beautiful.

Another dress store you could check out is Oksana's. I believe there is one in Chinook but I know for certain Sunridge Mall and Cross Iron Mills have them.  I found their price points cheaper forsure.  Some had less quality than David's but others were good, unfortunately the color I wanted was hard to find. There is also Laura in Cross Iron that also sells a lot of formal dresses perfect for BMs. Just an idea, no matter what color you end up buying.

Actually when I was in Cross Iron on the weekend one of the stores near H&M had the convertible dresses, shocked me. I didn't go in to see the price though.

Good luck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
