Congrats and welcome to the site! It sounds like your planning is well on the way! You've definitely come to the right spot for tips and advice, and I see you're getting married at The Royal. There are forums here for that resort. It's beautiful.

And congrats too on getting your dress already! The salon was right. It's one more thing out of the way. Take some time to read through the different things that are available on this site. You'll find the ladies here more than willing to share tips and ideas.

Good luck and happy planning!

Thanks acw271011

I have really been reading and getting good ideas on this site. One great idea is to have my men wear seashell boutonnieres. Those are really a nice touch and very different from the originals.

Congrats and welcome!!

So nice to have the dress. Now the key I heard is stop looking to help stop any second guessing. But since you only tried on two I'm thinking you have that down pat! What kind of dress did you get?

Our wedding is November 2016 and I ended up going dress shopping just to try on silhouettes and see what works for me cause Im usually not a dressy girl. Found a gorgeous dress that I love, it was a little over my price range though and the store manager, not my consultant who was very nice, was very PUSHY which I did not like. Telling me if I wake up tomorrow it could be discontinued. She told me this a few times. I did not appreciate this and I'm just going to let it simmer for now. If the dress is still around by the end of the year I will try it on again(at a different store) or see what else is out there. Trying to have fun with this experience and not let anyone stress me out (cause I'm sure my family will be doing that enough! lol)

Very happy you had a little more luck with your shopping! Sometimes you just know when you put it on!

Hello Everly

I went to David's Bridal and I  had an awesome experience. The lady that assisted me was a young girl and she asked me what did I want and I told her I wanted something inexpensive, nice, and elegant  because my wedding was a destination wedding. She let me pick what I liked. After trying on the 2 dresses and I chose the 2nd dress, she told me she never like picking for a bride because what she like they may not like, but if I tried on the dresses I chose and didn't like them, thats when she would have pulled some of her choice. I thought that was a good pitch. I felt good all around about this dress and I was able to pray and ring the bell after I chose it.

I went with the chiffon gown with ruffle detail and lace. I am into the long trains so my train is pretty long. I am not looking for another dress this will be the one.

@@dwesle we got engaged June 2014, I bought my beautiful wedding dress in October 2014 and we're getting married January 2016

I wasn't expecting to say yes to the dress so early but a local bridal shop was having a sample sale and I thought it wouldn't hurt to go. I too didn't want to break the bank on my dress. I told the consultant it was my first fitting and had noticed which silhouette would work for me. As she was talking, one dress caught my eye and I immediately grabbed it and asked to try it on. Lo and behold, the first dress I tried on was the one! I tried on 4 more dresses afterwards with different silhouettes and textures but none compared to the first dress. So I tried it on again and happily said yes to the dress :) and at 30% off, that was the cherry on top!

To date I still love the dress and have not had any regrets. The hardest thing is maintaining the same size to save costs in alterations lol

Hello Wafflesmom

I also got a good deal on my dress. This is around the time for prom, so the bridal shop I went too was offering a sale on dresses. I couldn't beat the price. The alterations are gonna cost me more than I paid for the dress. I had to go up 2 sizes because of my shape, so they have to fit the dress to my figure. I wear a size 10 dress, but I had to go up to a size 14 because of my shape, which sucked.

I will be taking my wedding party to shop for their dresses on April 11th, so I can still try the dress on again, which will be after alterations, to show them and this time I will be taking more pictures, so I can post.

Very happy you had a nice experience at David's! Honestly I has having a great time and my consultant was wonderful. It was the store manager who did all the pressuring when she kept stopping buy. The dress I ended up loving was one I saw on another bride which was just gorgeous and I asked to try on. I'm not anxious or ringing my hands that I didn't buy it so I think that's a good sign for me.

Ohh the dress sounds lovely! You should post a picture!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
