Ok so I have a really dumb question. I have an iPhone. In order to use it you would need to have a wifi connection correct so you're not roaming and getting charged? I'm trying to figure out music options. Our reception is on the beach. I don't see the wifi reaching that far

No but make sure the music is in your phone rather than streaming it from somewhere else. You can keep your phone in airplane mode all week and the music in there still plays

Thank you to whoever suggested the wedding DJ app! I downloaded it today and I swear, this is going to make it so much easier for us. We would love to do the DJ but it's not in our budget. I'm going to do a test of the app as soon as I'm done with my playlist.

I was just looking at it this weekend. It sounds really practical! I think we're totally going to go that route because we also can't really afford the DJ either.

I know the app is only available for iPhone and iPad but I heard some brides use Spotify as their DJ. You just have to pay the premium account. We would love to do the DJ route but I just know it's not in our budget. :( It would make it easier for us. I have read online about some people saying the DJ is able to get a feel of the crowd while with a an iPod, it can't.

Spotify uses wi fi ritht? I'm afraid that the wi fi will crap out in the middle of the party and it totally kills the mood. Internet can be kinda spotty over in Mexico from my previous experiences at least so I don't want to risk it.

I'm afraid people will get bored too but then I remember that we always have some awesome house parties over here at home with the same people, this will just be extra awesome. Also, my friend had her computer hooked up for her wedding (no dj). Honestly it was one of the best weddings ever. We all danced until they kicked us out haha.

We're going the same route. I have an iPad so I may try to upload all of the music to that and see how that goes. I guess the only thing I worry about in general is how long the battery will last. I may buy an extension cord to bring and plug the iPad into so I won't have to worry about it.

I'm going to try to download that app for mixing.

Hi @deecol

We actually ended up hiring a DJ.  We weren't going to but we just didn't want to worry about anything music related or any technical difficulties.  For us it was one thing off our plate and it was worth the extra money. :)
