Paradisus Or Similar Quality, Secluded Ceremony

Recommended Posts

Hello! I'm so overwhelmed going through all these resorts! This board is definitely helping.

I thought I had it narrowed down to the Paradisus but now I'm getting worried about all the not-so-little add ons.

I do like the privacy of the Gabi bridge since I really don't want strangers in the bathing suits in the back of all my pictures! (and i would totally be one of those people if it wasnt my wedding!)

Has anyone found any similar family-oriented places (read: fun pools, nightly entertainment) in the Cancun/Riviera Maya area with private ceremony space? oh and i also dont like sand....lol yea laugh at me for choosing a beach wedding, but i want to be looking at the beach but not standing in it :)

I will keep searching and let you know what we decide

Welcome to BDW! You've come to the right place if you're looking for destination wedding tips! I have no idea what your price point is, or where you're flying from etc. And I highly recommend a good travel agent to help you get started. There is a great TA associated with this site - Wright Travel. They're DW specialists!

Having said that have you looked at the Karisma properties? Azul Fives and Azul Beach both have a Sky Deck that is private and gorgeous. You're high up and not right on the water if that's what you're looking for, but check out their website. There might be something you see that you like. I'm the same. Not interested in sand. I want to wear shoes, but they're are a lot of ladies here that's what they're planning. So it's an individual choice.

The other thing you may find helpful is to look through the resort reviews and see what past brides have said. Look through the gallery too and see some of the photos that have been posted.

Good luck and happy planning!

hello RJE,

I was actually at the Paradisus hotel last week on a site visit and menu tasting for one of my clients getting married this August. they choose the tailor made package ceremony on the gaby bridge with the reception in the gaby club. totally understand when you do not want to step in the sand, really no one will be in the background during the ceremony.  FYI: the wedding menu was absolutely delicious.

like acw271011, mentioned some good resort you might want to consider. if you really looking for 100% privacy.

Happy Planning!

Hi @@RJE

Choosing a venue can be totally overwhelming, so many things to consider and so many options! As @@acw271011 said, having more information about your needs and desires would help guide you, but I am happy to make some suggestions for private, personal and intimate spaces in resorts (where you can avoid the sand in your toes!) :D Definitely look for places with terraces or piers over the water, this will ensure sand-free feet and more privacy. You may also consider having the wedding off-resort at one of the beach clubs like Blue Venado (mega private!)

The Nizuc Resort and Spa in Cancun

The Nizuc Resort and Spa is one of the newer resorts in Cancun, we've shot a couple of weddings there since they are opened and we are impressed. The pier is a great way to have your intimate and sand-free ceremony and the chefs are out of this world (top notch cuisine).

The Viceroy Riviera Maya

The Viceroy Riviera Maya is a really fabulous venue, one bride recently described it as having a "Gilligan's Island, deserted island feeling with luxuries". The pier here will also fit your needs.

Zoetry Paraiso de la Bonita

Zoetry is one of our favourite venues, they do a fantastic job with weddings, personal, intimate and luxurious (and a lovely pier!). The architecture and colors of the resort are warm and cozy.

Blue Diamond Resort Riviera Maya

The Blue Diamond Riviera Maya is another luxurious venue that offers intimate weddings on a great pier.

I hope that gave you some ideas. I wouldn't write off the Paradisus Resorts, the Gabi Bridge really is a great spot! Happy planning!

Beach Palace is a great idea, the Sky Terrace has great views of the ocean and the lagoon, gets incredible sunsets and is totally private (and no sand!) :D

I really loved this terrace but the room rates we get were way too much! I couldn't ask my guests to pay that much. Are you staying at this hotel also or Moon?

@@RJE My guests and I are all staying at Beach Palace. They require you and 80% of the party to stay at the wedding hotel. When considering your guests, don't compromise too much. It's your day and ultimately the people who really want to come, won't mind paying an extra $200-300 to support you and stay at a great hotel. I think that as long as you give them ample time to do payment plan, things will be ok.

Have you contacted a TA? I'm sure if you contacted Wright Agency and told them your budget and what you're looking for, they will help you. I've been working with them and so far they've been great (and patient with my indecisiveness).  Best of luck with your search.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
