Acw271011 So This Is Not A Planning Thread.... But

Thank you ladies. You're all so sweet!

@@Meandhim we fly next Sunday the 18th! 11 days to go!! Woohoo! I can't wait now. I haven't seen my son in a year so I'm going to be scouring the airport for him since his flight from Vancouver lands right after ours. Hopefully we'll get to talk in customs line or something lol  He's next door at one of the Iberostar resorts, not right with us which I'm really upset about but they waited too long and our resort is now sold out. Doug says he's really not in for paying for passes back and forth for the whole week and I agree but still.... We're off to Vancouver next month for 5 days so we'll get another visit with him then but on vacation, it would have been really nice to have all of us together in the same spot.

Aahhh!  6 days until we leave for Mexico! And finally getting organized I think. Quiet thanksgiving for us today after getting back from the US late last night for the grandsons' birthdays. And I got to pick up my goodies too!! Very happy with everything. Well worth the wait!

I want to give a shout out to our Etsy bride to be Perian. The talents this young lady has are unbelievable! She did a chalkboard sign for me to take to Mexico that is absolutely gorgeous, and two chair signs - Mr. Right and Mrs. Always Right in beautiful pink. Thank you Perian! And all of this was done with her own wedding only 2 months away! Even Doug was impressed with how the signs turned out and believe me - that's saying something! He's a guy, what can I say! lol But he does like them and has carefully wrapped them up for the trip!

So here are the goodies that I picked up yesterday.

The little ring box for pictures.

I found this Etsy seller that does these beautiful hangers and the only one I found that does the "I Do Again" idea. It's perfect for us and I love the pink flower she added to it.

20151012_121744_resized.jpg

My beautiful Adrianna Papell blue shoes. I love the sparkly bottom. I just need to rough up the bottoms because they're very slippery.

Our labels. Love how they turned out. Don't know what I'm going to do with them all since we only have 6 cups but there is a minimum order now required so there will be extras!!

My necklace and earrings set. This turned out perfectly! Would highly recommend the Etsy seller!

Chair sashes, the table runner and the gold overlay for the table with the cake. Sorry the colours aren't very good in the pics.

Here are the rest of the goodies.

20151012_122335_resized.jpg

The maracas. Pink and blue and will go with the white I already have. Each person will get a white and a colour.

Our bags. These are so great and exactly what I wanted. Guys will get royal blue and girls turquoise or pink. These were so reasonably priced and the price goes down with more ordered so definitely worth it. I had them shipped to the US but I think it would be worth looking into shipping to canada.

I've started putting my oh sh!t kits together. I picked up a bunch of stuff at a store in the US so each bag will have a couple of bandaids, a shout wipe, a small sink pack of Tide, rolaids, pepto, travel bottle of scope, advil, chapstick, emery board for the ladies, a small container of safety pins, Axe for the guys in a travel size, hand sanitizer from BBW, anti-bacterial wipes, aloe lotion. I think that's everything. With only have a few people it was easy to do a bit more. I also have a robe for each of us since we're doing hair and makeup all together and a shower puff. Don't think at this point we'll be adding much more. Doug still has to get something for the guys just to add in but I have no idea what.

We're almost there. Anxious to go now. I just want to get there. I did my dress fitting on Thursday night but it was still too long so it needs to be taken up more, the bustle needs to be done and the lace she added as straps needs to be tightened a little. It's not quite exactly what I was hoping for but it still looks awesome so I'm happy with it. I did the dreaded Spanx on the weekend on sale at Bon Ton in the US so that's off the list. I have to go back for my dress this Thursday and Doug picks up his suit so that will be done. I bought the little mini steamer that @@TinkerSofi recommended and it's great! Comes with its own little travel bag and is very lightweight so I think a good investment.

On the job front I had 2 second interviews - one Thurs and one Fri so I'm really hoping I hear something this week. It would be nice to come back from Mexico to be ready to start something new.

Everything looks fantastic. As per usual :)

Where did you get those bags from? They are the perfect size I think!

Love you went for the necklace with the off set broach. You know how much I love that style :)

Love the hanger too. Pack it well between something or leave it in the box it came in as they bend out of shape very easily.

Good luck on the jobs and I hope you hear soon. I had an interview last week myself :) keep us posted.

How did I miss that pic of you in your dress? You are absolutely glowing in it, it's the perfect dress for you. I can't even tell you have a hangover, and wine hangovers are the worst.

I love everything you've picked up, from the bags, the maracas, ring holder and of course the shoes. I love that blue tone. If they're too slippery, you can always buy slipguards for the bottom. They should have them at Walmart or aldo (really any shoe store). They have clear ones so they won't take away too much from the shine on the soles.

And that's so exciting that you leave this Sunday, I'm excited for you!!

Oh and good luck on the job front. Two second interviews is great. It would be wonderful if you can quit your old job before leaving huh?

Thanks ladies! 5 days to go and one week today for our renewal! And of course I broke TWO nails!!! It couldn't be just one. It had to be TWO!! So now I have to get them filled because they look so ridiculous. Oh well.

@RivieraBride15  @Wafflesmom  Thank you both. The dress actually looks really different now with the shoulders covered, the front closed up a bit and the lace that was added. I meant to get pictures but forgot so I will for sure this Thursday when I put it back on. I'm supposed to be taking it home unless there are a couple of small things. Hoping not because it's all the way out in Guelph and I really would rather not have to go back out there again on Saturday.

@Meandhim  it's a little mini hand steamer from Bed Bath and Beyond. it was only $25 +tax and it's the perfect size to hold. @@TinkerSofi recommended it in her planning thread and actually posted a pic. I'll see if I can find one and post it. We have one but when I pulled it out of the closet it was much heavier and bulkier than I remembered. The one that I got has it's own little travel pouch too. Actually packing hasn't been that bad. I bought a duffle bag the same as what Marinha had for her wedding in March off Amazon. It was $35 and is perfect for all of the clothes. Soft sided, on wheels with a pull handle and TONS of space. We've packed all of the regular clothes in it plus a few bits and bobs. The dressy stuff will go into the wally bag with Doug's suit. Then everything else will go in a big suitcase. Thankfully we upgraded with Transat to Options Plus and get an extra 10 kg of luggage which means 32 kg each. That's 140 lbs of luggage we can take. Doug says whatever doesn't fit into that amount stays behind lol  We also get priority checkin, priority boarding, free seat selection, a bottle of wine and money to buy food on board. They don't give you meals on the Mexico runs anymore. Go figure. You have to buy your food now but we get money towards that with the upgrade. Plus it's a 4 hour flight so no big deal.

@ You are more than welcome and it's all deserved. You do some absolutely beautiful work. I can't wait to see it all in our photos. I meant to take pics before Doug packed it up but it was already wrapped when I thought of it and wasn't going to make him undo it all. I got the eyeball roll with the Mr Right / Mrs Always Right and a "yeah right" comment lol

I had a text from maybeoneday this morning. Her wedding is tomorrow! Yikes! She said the resort WC got them a skydeck weddng for free! It's only the two of them so very small. I think with all the money they take in the resort can handle that!! I can't wait to see her photos and still hoping we can meet up in Mexico but they fly back to the UK the day after our renewal and it's a long flight so at this point it's not looking good. Fingers crossed!

Then we have so many weddings coming up!! You ladies all have to promise you'll come back for visits! I'm going to lose so many brides!

@@acw271011 I can't believe you leave this week!!!! So so excited for you! It all looks fantastic! You look stunning in your dress!!

Do you have a pic of the dufflebag you got from Amazon? I'm on the hunt for good luggage options. We have this great big suitcase but the frame is way too heavy. We were almost over the weight limit when we went to the BDR in Sept....we were only packing for 4 days!!

We fly in on the 18th, do our anniversary on the 20th then fly home on the 25th. You're still coming in on the 24th, right? I really hope we can put something together! We also don't fly until 5 on the 25th so not sure what time they haul us out of there to head for the airport but I would thing there would be a bit of time on Sunday before we have to leave.

Yes! Still arriving on the 24th. I can't wait. You are almost leaving...that is sooo exciting! We should be arriving mid day so we can definitely figure something out between the remainder of the day on the 24th or before you go on the 25th!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
