Acw271011 So This Is Not A Planning Thread.... But

Recommended Posts

@@acw271011 So I put it on wrong lol

The front is meant to have two pieces of fabric that criss-cross over the bust, I left one in the back lol but you get the idea  :P

I looovvveee your dress and you look beautiful!  The detailing of it is gorgeous, and that keyhole back - amazing!

@ I always pictured long flowy dresses for my girls on the beach.  The struggle was finding something that the guests wouldn't wear.  I think these are perfect and the price was great.

@@acw271011 You look absolutely gorgeous in your dress!!! Love the back!!

I would try and wear your shoes with some socks. That usually helps break them in a bit. :)

now that's something I didn't think of!!

You look stunning. That's a gorgeous dress :)

Breaking in shoes suck. You just gotta wear them but I recommend using a band aid or tape at the regular pressure/rub points to protect from blisters. If there is a way to break in shoes, ladies I'm all ears. I have some I don't wear cause of blisters.

You ladies are so good for an old lady's ego!! lol Sometimes I think all of this stuff is even harder than coming through all the surgeries and hospital stays! I just wanted something simple but special! Oh well. It will all be over soon then we can lie by the pool and drink!!

@deecol  @vancouverpetunia  well I ordered from Lulus. I opted for long but in navy blue. Easy colour to wear multiple places and for lots of occasions and I can do different shoes/purse/jewellery to change the look. I took the easy shipping so it will be two weeks before it gets here, and I did have it sent here rather than to the US.

My daughter in law has decided no more anything sent to them in the US. No idea why. She started off her note with "I'm not trying to be mean but....". I feel so sorry for my son married to her. She's a lazy so and so that does absolutely nothing. My son is the one that does the cooking and cleaning and she bitches constantly at him. What's so frustrating is that we can't say anything because she would turn around and tell us we can't see the boys anymore so we will pick up what has arrived and that will be the end of it. It means looking for a border spot for pick ups which there is but oh I would really love to scream at the little witch!!

Sorry - just needed to vent for a second.

I'm really sorry to say but your daughter in law sounds horrid! I can't understand why she won't let you post items there as it is not costing her anything! Maybe she is jealous of the closeness you have with your son and grand children...It may be her way of trying to remain in control.

Good luck with breaking in the shoes...I had so many that were just sitting in the boxes I ended up taking them all to the charity shop. I kept 1 or 2 but now just have 'comfy' shoes! X

Hi! I just caught up on your planning thread. I've been busy with the move coming up and haven't had much time to be on the site. I have to say you have been one busy lady! I love all your choices. I love the jewellery, but I agree with CalgaryBride, you might have to buy some of that double sided tape to make sure the brooch doesn't move. I got it at Shoppers Drug Mart for a very low cut dress I have, and let me tell you, it has saved me from a few wardrobe malfunctions haha. I always bring it now when I travel ;). You can find it where they have those adhesive bras and things like that.

I love the TTD dress as well as the regular dress. I wouldn't worry too much about the heat in the dress. I don't think your wedding day will be hotter than ours, and the breeze in the terrace made it bearable. The worst part was standing in the sun during the ceremony, I was definitely sweating there, but afterwards it's not too bad. Also, my excitement and happiness to be wearing that dress really made me overlook how hot it was! I'm really glad that I didn't change into a shorter dress for the whole reception and just toughed it out. If push comes to shove you could change into your TTD dress at some point ;)

The only thing that comes to mind when I think of breaking in shoes is when I used to go to ballet and the girls who wore pointe would grab those shoes and start bending them one way and the other, and open them with their fingers to stretch the "toes space". I still don't think this made them a lot less painful when they had to wear them for the first time, but it probably helped a little. Then it's just a matter of wearing them, sadly.

Oh where does the time go??? Are we really almost the middle of August?

I haven't done much - I'm up to my eyeballs in financial and regulatory reporting for second quarter. I've been stalking Etsy though a bit in the evening and had pretty much decided on certain vendors for a couple of things.

So here is the earrings and necklace set I decided on (and this is the actual set):

Then I found this really cool site for cake toppers that are totally out of the ordinary. Because of our age and the fact that we're looking at retirement in a few years, plus the fact that this isn't our wedding, I saw these toppers and thought "yeah. that's us"  Totally and completely us. So this is a close photo of what ours will be. We're doing white chairs, 2 flip flops (pink and brown) and a glass of wine on one chair and a bottle of Corona on the other (which is Doug's beer). I opted out of the bucket of shells - we aren't shell collectors really. But I thought it was something just plain cool to put on the cake and different. Opinions?

OMG I LOVE your jewelry!  I love that the broach is on one side instead of the middle.  I also love the cake topper too!  I love personal touches at a wedding.  I think Calgarybride2015 mentioned that you might need to tape it or pin it down and suggested double-sided tape which is a good idea if you want to make sure it doesn't move.

I bought double-sided fabric tape from Shoppers to tape my bra to my dress so you can't see it lol.  When I went to Shoppers there were two different types the fabric to fabric one and another one that I can't remember.  I paid $12 for mine (everything is unfortunately more expensive downtown).

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
