Acw271011 So This Is Not A Planning Thread.... But

Recommended Posts

Happy to help! I'm smaller in my waist and have larger hips if you can't tell by the picture, just to give you more sizing info.

@@acw271011 I don't mind - I'm normally a 10/12 in pants  and a medium in tops.

This is how the medium fit me.  I'm only holding the top up because I was by myself and couldn't reach to the back to zip up all the way.  I should also point out I was not wearing a bra, so the top supports pretty decent as well.  The bottom was a tad long, I'm 5'7.

After the USD exchange rate, taxes, shipping and customs each dress ended up being about $110.  The offer 10% your first order so it basically covered the shipping for mine.  I ordered two dresses.

Oh it looks great!!! I really like it! The colour is beautiful and looks so pretty on you, and will be perfect for bridesmaids! I would order probably royal blue or something like that so that I could wear it lots of times. The strapless is perfect for Mexico! Thanks for the reassurance. I think I might just go ahead and order one.

My thing is with all the surgeries I really don't have a waist right now and probably won't until the end of the year. They said with the nerves that got cut and the incisions being so big it takes time to come back from it. I can't even get on the exercising because the shortness of breath is so bad I can do 5 minutes on the treadmill and can barely breathe. The waist size like @@Wafflesmom said is what really worried me but what the heck. I think it's worth a try for the price they are.

Thanks! I love the colour too :) They are super pretty and perfect for the Mexico beach.

Just be careful when ordering because the waist really has no give, lots of room in the hips and legs and even the bust area wasn't too tight but the waist had no stretchy-ness to it, that's why I wanted to point out that I'm smaller in the waist, hourglass shape I guess so the medium was fine for me and hopefully my girls.

I finally got to try my dress on tonight. I HATE the pictures, and really hate having my picture taken. I had a long day today and am absolutely exhausted so the photos are even worse than they would normally be. Keep in mind that the back isn't properly and totally laced up. We were also no in a big room so the back of the dress wasn't properly "puffed" out. It's I think one of the big things that attracted me to the dress. But.... here it is on. Sadly I rushed out of here this morning and forgot the "later" dress (still haven't decided what I'm doing with it yet) so having that one on will have to wait for the weekend.

Aww thanks! My friend just grabbed my hair and pinned it so that we could get an idea of the veil length and she put it higher than I wanted but at least it gave me a general idea. We took yards and yards of crinoline out so it toned the dress down a lot!! Which is what I wanted but standing and standing while they pinned and in such a small space I was ready to pass out from the heat. I'm just hoping that being on an open air terrace in mexico makes it nowhere near as bad as it was last night.

Also - anyone have any tips on the best way to break in shoes????? Yikes!

@ thank you!!

@deecol  I'm giving serious thought to a dress from the lulu's site. The prices are great and you can always wear a long dress over and over. Maxis are back in style now too!

@@Wafflesmom Ok please don't make me cry!! lol I'm so so nervous about this dress for Doug to see. It wasn't my original choice - the original was about 3 times the cost! And after getting so overheated in it last night I'm a little worried. It was quite a bit bigger on me too than expected. Thanks so much for the boost!!

I'm pretty certain Doug will be speechless when he sees you in this dress because it honestly looks beautiful on you. For someone who said they were exhausted and that the dress wasn't properly tied and poofed, you looked pretty good in those pics. And I think you made a great choice despite it not being your first dress choice. Once it's been altered too, it's gonna look even better ;)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
