Acw271011 So This Is Not A Planning Thread.... But

Recommended Posts

@@acw271011 for a busy woman, you have accomp'ished so much! I live your second dress! Can you please post pics of you in both dresses? I think you owe us a dress pic with you wearing them

Your cake toppers are so cute, and I. Glad you're personalizing them.

Pandora your shoes? Wow, I love the blue. I know you've been looking for blue shoes and I think those are perfect!

The cake is a hard choice. I'd say go for dulce de leche but that may be too sweet. Perhaps Doug could be the decider on that one. Derrick had me plan ecpverything as long as he had say with food choices lol

@ and @@maybeoneday thank you on the cake topper and jewellery. I really like both of them. We had a pretty cake topper when we got married but I wanted something different since we aren't getting married, and since we're only a few years now from retiring, the chairs with the wine/beer and flip flops fit what we want to retire to.

@@calgarybride2015 I agree. Joyce uses this particular baker for all of her off resort weddings and she sent me the list that this lady puts together. I'm not sure if some of it is because of the translation from spanish? Hopefully I hear from Joyce tomorrow and she lets me know what they mean. I have to admit that hazelnut doesn't do anything for me. I know Nutella is the latest craze - the place I get my muffin in the morning actually puts it on bagels!

My shoes are Horizon. Sorry for the lousy pic. I tried to find a place with a light background so the pics would show but the bedroom I did them in has lousy overhead lighting so they came out really crummy. Plus I was using my phone instead of my camera like I should have. I like the flowers. They're only about an inch and a half across, maybe a smidge more so not big enough to be overbearing.

@Wafflesmom  Thank you! That's so sweet! It's funny you say that - my gf called tonight to see if I want to go over and finally try my dress on because the lady that is going to do the alterations on it is available on Thursday. She asked what time I could get there and all I could do was laugh. I told her that no matter what I'm walking out of the office this week at 5pm! No ifs, ands or buts! The last two weeks have been long (again) and I'm tired. I went to bed Friday night and slept 11 straight hours!! I'm really too old for this! So..... I finally get to try my dress on this Thursday and yes, I will ask her to take a pic of me in it. At last! I haven't received the second dress yet, but my guess is that it will be this week. I'll check the tracking number tomorrow and see where it's at.

The shoes are David's Bridal and I just had them dyed. I really, really like the style because the heel isn't excessively high. My knees just don't like high heels anymore.  And that's right -  I don't think I posted here what happened last week. I know I told the GTA girls on Friday night. The blue shoes I posted here earlier that I really liked - the Adriana Papell Sky Blue ones - I couldn't find them anywhere in my size so I gave up. But boy I loved those shoes! So last week I get an email from Amazon  that says "still looking for Adriana Papell pumps?" I'm like heck ya!!!! So I start clicking around and ta da! My blue shoes are available. In. My. Size!!!! Ha somebody upstairs really likes me!!! So I ordered them. They'll arrive at my son's in the US tomorrow! And they were less than half the original price!!! No way I was walking away from that!!! I can just hear Doug now.... lol

I agree on the dulce le leche. I think it's going to be really sweet. I would love something more fruity for the filling or a custard type cream that isn't overly sweet but until I hear back on the what the list of flavours means we can't figure out what's available. I absolutely would have no problem with Doug picking the filling - he definitely would pick something I think that would work for everyone and be somewhat neutral. He's so conditioned now for sugar that he can't have that he's gotten pretty good at working within what he's allowed and not allowed. I love the strawberry suggestion but as I mentioned, he's allergic to strawberry so that would have to be off the list. If she has raspberry or peach that would work. We aren't big lemon people - Doug likes a slice of lime in his Corona - but that doesn't count! lol And I detest coconut so that's off the list too! lol Sort of narrowing the choices, aren't I?? I'll see what Joyce comes back with and go from there.

I agree. I don't get the nutella craze. Even Tim Hortons is using it everywhere. My daughter loves it so I've tried it in small doses but you are right -- on a cake would be too much. You are probably safe with the custard. Yummy!!!

Your pics aren't crummy. I was just curious on the color. They are lovely.

Have a good week. I'll be back after our honeymoon :)

Wow! I've been away in Vancouver for a few days and I've missed so many updates! You have done so much! Everything looks amazing. I love the trash the dress dress that you purchased. That is such a steal! Well done on your thrifty shopping! Also the color of your shoes is absolutely amazing! I love it so much! and the hair pieces are so cute! They will look perfect! Can't wait to see more of your stuff coming together!

@yycbride2016  Aww thanks! Compared to you ladies I really don't have a lot to do. Our stuff is so simple compared to what all of you have to put together. I really do love the shoes! lol The photo is bad and doesn't do the colour justice. I absolutely LOVE the colour!!

@@acw271011 I love it! The colours definitely compliment each other! Is the background meant to be green or turquoise? Love the colours either way!

Sorry for not posting much...work seems to just run my life lately and is getting me down. I am still reading everyone's posts....gets me back to wedding mode lol xx

Meeting up would be lovely...can't wait! Will see what the transport issue is at Royalton. Apparently it is a 2 mile stretch to the main road through a Mangrove so not suitable for walking to bus stop. And taxi is around $60-90 to Playa del Carmen! Will see what dates and times the shopping shuttles are...Either way we will catch up!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
