Acw271011 So This Is Not A Planning Thread.... But

Recommended Posts

Thankfully I have time to get moving on it. I signed up for weight watchers and gained in the first two weeks. Too much food for me and the points tracking was just too complicated.

Sometimes it's an adjustment ... If you like it you will lose weight just stick to it. If not, maybe try my fitness pal? That's what I lost all my weight using - for me I know what to do, it's the act of doing it that's tough lol

I found Myfitnesspal really helpful too. Sometimes we don't think about what we're putting into our bodies until we start tracking. I also lost some weight using it. It is kind of a pain to enter everything in because some things are kind of hard to find, but it gives you a really good idea of where you're at and whether you're under or overeating (undereating can be just as bad).

I want to tone up before the wedding but I agree with @@calgarybride2015, I know what I need to do, but when it comes down to doing it, not so easy haha.

edit: My mom is trying to lose some weight for the wedding too, and her and my dad are using the South Beach Diet. It's not so much a diet but more of a way of eating, which is the nice thing. The first  couple of weeks you do cut out carbs and sugar, which is probably the hardest part, but then you introduce them back in healthy quantities. They've lost quite a bit of weight, my mom has lost about 7kg (around 14lbs) in about a month. She was having trouble with anything else due to the hormonal changes of her age, but this seems to be working for her! :)

You got this ladies!

I agree, but they also have the bar code scanner to help easily enter the food accurately :)

I tend to eat a lot of the same things so I just had to search. Sometimes it would be easier to hand write it as I know the calories in most things now that I consume.

I guess I could do it on paper and not track it via MFP if that was my only hold back!

I love body pump for toning if you have a goodlife membership!

@@calgarybride2015 Sadly I don't have a membership with goodlife :(. I go to anytime fitness and the one I go to doesn't have any classes. I'm following a program from bodybuilding.com and I have toned up quite a bit, but I'm having trouble being consistent with the workouts and the diet. I also do yoga once a week and that's a killer haha. I'm hoping once the wedding gets closer it will give me the kick in the pants I need hahah.

I started tracking my calories on MFP again and then gave up again when I got too busy haha but it's time to start again and keep up with it! It really helps me to be more conscious of what I'm eating. Sometimes I think I give up because I'm in denial about how many calories I actually eat and it doesn't feel good when you're confronted with it! hahah :P

lol from your mouth to God's ears!

I've heard of South Beach definitely, but I've heard mixed reviews on it. That's awesome that your mom lost that much weight in a month! That's almost all of what I want to lose! Well, closer to 20 but I would be thrilled with 15 to get off and keep it off!

It's tough. She's not a big fan of sweets to begin with so I think that's why she's been able to keep up with it. My dad on the other hand is kinda like me, we have such a sweet tooth! haha and he's suffering through it. I'll eat a cookie or something and he'll say "why are you doing this to me?!" hahah. I feel pretty mean.

I gained quite a bit of weight after I had my last surgery. It's been years now, but I know it can totally take a toll on you. It took a long time to heal so I couldn't exercise and I got into some bad eating habits, the result wasn't good. I had gained about 14lbs as well, which is a lot when you're only 5' tall haha.

@@calgarybride2015 I'm starting tomorrow again! How do you add friends? I can't find that feature.

My problem isn't that I love food. My problem is that food loves me!! lol I lost almost 25 lbs last year. I started losing it slowly in May and had lost 11 lbs by the time i went into the hospital just after labour day. Then I lost 14 more after the surgery and didn't start gaining it back until just over the last month. Now I've gained 9 back in a month. So I need to lose that 9 plus the 10 more that I wanted to get off and now it seems unattainable. I'm frustrated more than anything.

I'll take a look at my fitness pal. My problem is tracking what I eat. I already know I eat some things I shouldn't but not that much of it. That's what's so frustrating. One way or another I have to get it off. I'm still having enough trouble breathing without having the extra weight on.

I always say you need to pick something you'll stick to forever. That's what I try to do -- I'm not going to deny things I love I'm just going to limit them!!! And 19 is not unattainable, heck if I can lose what I did we both can lose 20 lbs!!! It's all a mind set.

Hey - we're so close! Our date is our wedding anniversary - October 20th. We're staying at Azul Fives but our ceremony will be on a rooftop terrace at Grand Coral Beach Club. Some of it is getting real now with all the deposits.

I just say my prayers every night not to end up back in the hospital again. At least not until we get back from Mexcio!

You are one amazing woman!! xx

I can't believe how fast this wedding coming around! I will be ordering my dress at the end of April as I still have a little weight to lose!! I can then get it altered if I need to xx

Exciting ????

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
