3 Month Count Down?

Recommended Posts

I am no doctor nor am I giving medical advise, but the comment about diets made me think about internal body health.

I started taking 5 -HTP. 100mg extended release from Natrol.

You can find at health food stores.

It has kept me more calm, happier, sleeping better, more motivation, and I've lost about 5 pounds in 3 weeks bc I'm not reaching in the fridge to comfort me throughout this stress.

Again, not recommending anyone take medication even OTC but wanted to share what has helped me recently.

I've also been taking barre classes and I sware my butt has lifted 2 inches. It was in need of desperate help!

For food - I can't diet, I just can't. I don't want to that's the problem. So instead of dieting the last month I've thought of the nutritional value of my food instead of calories. So for example instead of saying to myself I'm not gonna have this or that, or I gotta eat eggs and no toast, I think to myself What can I eat to give my body protein, or vitamins etc.

Idk if I've lost weight because of it, but I feel a lot better.

I've not been hard on myself for putting crispy chicken on my salad instead of grilled bc I've convinced myself the nutritionally dense kale and carrots in my salad is giving me lots of vitamins. And I've been sticking to it feeling satisfied.

Hoping that I can stick to it for 3 months! Maybe forever?

That is SO exciting!

2 weeks- sooo close.

Did you do any personal touches besides an OOT bag (I'm not doing one) for the wedding yourself?

@@LisaAnthonyPoppy I do barre classes too! Holy smokes are they intense. I mix them in with other workouts, but I sure do love the muscle tone they give me and they are SO good for my posture since I sit at a desk all day. I get compliments on my arms and shoulder muscles all the time.

I follow your same diet philosophy - and I do workout so my body needs the fuel. I could just every once in awhile decline the pizza or french fries and I think that would help! I can turn down sweet - my problem is more salty carbs...and pizza. Oh how I love pizza :)

@LisaAnthonyPoppy  I didn't do OTT bags for our wedding. It wasn't in our budget and we really didn't want to travel with all that extra stuff!

Also, all our guests know of someone who has travelled at one point in the past 20 years so they were given tips on what to bring with them etc so we figured that giving out little tubes of sunscreen etc. would be redundant. Even if the majority of those tips are out of date and/or not relevant to the Dominican or our resort lol

We are just doing a welcome letter for the guests outlining some events of the week and the wedding. What are you doing?

I felt this way too!!! The last month was super stressful. I was so over everything and never wanted to see ribbon and paper cutters again :)

You'll get thru it and when it's all over you can sit back and laugh at yourself like I did :)

Last night my fiance was on the phone with a friend asking questions about booking. I heard him say "We're getting married..." and I was OH WEIRD! Sometimes I'm so consumed with the travel and guests booking and budget that I forget that we're going to be MARRIED after all this. That sounds crazy but something about hearing him say it make it feel more real.

Also, I got my final details request form from my resort yesterday! That sure make it feel real too!

It is the resort's form that I have to complete that covers pretty much every little detail from when we're arriving, what time I want to get my hair done, if we're customizing our ceremony script, restaurant request for rehearsal dinner, flower selections, you name it. It is 11 pages!

Since you're wedding is off resort you probably have a different set of final details!

I feel the same way. I am so burnt out from the wedding. Having to balance my full-time job, my daughter and the wedding, I am going bonkers. We finally bought airfare tickets, confirmed with the resort with our guest lists and checklist, and arranged a shuttle van to/from the airport. Oh, I also went ahead and dropped my dress off at the tailor and bought my wedding shoes.I still have a lot to do and I know it's going to creep on me very quickly.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
