Enjoy your trip!!! Looking forward to your thoughts on the 3 resorts. Wedding planning is tough so this vacation is such a great idea. Have fun!

Love that dress. Looks beautiful on you.

Thanks, all. When DF suggested that we go away I pushed against the idea. I wanted to save the money for our wedding. He's going to Portland in the summer as well, so two vacations will add up. But he insisted, so who am I to argue. I think it will reignite the whole process and get things going. He has said "Let's just go to City Hall next week," about four or five times now. I might just take him up on that. Still want the symbolic wedding though.

@@JoannaBanana I think I tried that dress on! Or at least one a lot like it. It was in my top 3!

The back is so stunning and your entire "backside" looks really great in it! I love the buttons down the back. I did end up with a backless one so I'm a little biased though :) I'm small in the bust so I loved the idea of showing off my back instead!

@@JoannaBanana I'm so jealous that your TA experience was hard to pick which one because they were all so great. I lost $400 because mine was the absolute worst and I had to start over from scratch with a new one.

We almost booked with the Royalton (and part of me still regrets not booking it). Its such an amazing and beautiful resort but I was nervous when it first opened up and when I was talking with the resort in January they didn't have any prices for anything yet so I felt too nervous to book with them thinking my wedding could potentially explode with expenses. We decided on the Grand Sirenis and I'm just so excited. I wish these next 9 months would just speed up!

Hey!  So I'm leaving Saturday morning.  I'm just winding down my last night at work.  I'm going to do some running around and then some cleaning tomorrow.  I'll be there before you know it!  I'll let you all know how the two resorts were, and how the weather and everything was.  So excite!

Oh, and one of my coworkers offered to do a courtesy engagement photo shoot for my fiancé and I.  Ya.  My fiancé doesn't want to do it.  He thinks engagement photos are cheesy.  It's okay, it's not really my style either.  But it would have been nice to have some good pictures together, and I thought it was so nice of my coworker to offer!

Yay!!! Can't wait to hear your reviews!! Enjoy the time away.

I kind of agree on the photos being cheesy but I went into more from the perspective of practice. It taught us how to pose and kiss and such. I honestly believe it helped with wedding photos and gave me more confidence I could smile and not look dorky lol. Also gave us great pics of us to use at the wedding.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
