Neako's Planning Thread - Riviera Maya 2016

Juan totally did that. I was more into the pictures but he always likes to see thing and not imagine them, so he searched for videos :). I think it is very helpful, especially videos made by the guests and not the professional ones that the resort provides.

The resort we booked at has videos of weddings at the venues we chose and that was super helpful to visualize how I wanted the wedding there.

Soooo... I contacted another TA, I just can't bring myself in to focus here. Please tell me picking the resort is the hard part!

Colours too. As mentioned I'm starting to think these colours are all too girly and thinking of going with more orange.

I'm considering going more orange as we both love the colour.

Not the best picture of me, but for comedy here's a shot with FI after I caught a friend's bouquet in September 2013.

It is the hardest part but don't make it harder than it needs to be. Make a list of what is a must have and your price point. Also your preferred location and just get err done. You can search for a resort for months upon months if you allow yourself too.

Colors aren't girly :) choose your faves. Who cares what others think, it's your wedding :)

It's his too though, I'm only thinking of him. Actually he probably doesn't really care..

He doesn't. I promise you :) he might object to wearing pink but pink as your wedding color is ok! Hahaha. Pink was my color and the others were accents.

lol I know when we got married, I had colours picked out. Showed them to hubby and he said no way. They were Wisteria and a wine colour. Don't remember the name now, but basically a lilac and a wine colour combo. I really liked it. Anyway, he said "we're getting married in Jamaica. I want bright colours that say the Caribbean. It didn't quite end up that way lol  His shirt was a peach on cream with green accents. My flowers were deep pink. That's as "bright" as we got. lol  For our renewal they are turquoise and bright pink, only he doesn't know it yet lol  I keep telling him I'm still thinking about what I want and absolutely I'll talk to him about it so that he knows. And I will. Really. But only when it comes time to get his suit colours. lol  My son has already said he's ok with the pink. We'll see how that goes in a couple of months.... lol

I went through the same with the colors, I changed them pretty much every week. I say go for something that you like and that kind of speaks for both of you. For us, I knew I needed to have some kind of blue because that Juan's favorite color and it has grown on me too hahah. In the end I gave him two choices of color palettes and he chose one. I tried asking him before what colors he wanted and it got me nowhere, so the forced choice was a better approach :P.

The resort is really the hard part. I almost drove myself insane trying to compare everything so I agree with Calgarybride, the easiest approach is to make a list of your must haves and budget. Give it to your TA and see what she can come up with. Then do a bit of research with what she gave you to make your decision. That's how we picked ours :) after our first choice didn't pan out.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
