Hi! We're getting married at Iberostar Rose Hall Suites and will be around 75 guests - our budget including EVERYTHING (dress, travel, rings, photography, etc.) is like $18k and I wouldn't say we are skimping on things, so I think $10k is do-able depending on how fancy your tastes are! We are actually paying for 2 people to stay too.

I know Iberostar has a ton of flexible options for the wedding itself. Doing a private tent on the beach is most expensive because of the rentals, but a lot of brides just do a semi-private dinner (which they say is really quite private) and then rent out the disco for like $800 including the DJ and drinks. Or do a bonfire on the beach after dinner. We're renting one of the a la carte restaurants for a private reception, which ends up somewhere in the middle cost-wise.

Good luck! Just pay close attention to the "add-on" costs when deciding on a resort. Some seem like a total steal but then they charge you crazy amounts for every single tiny thing! Also inquire about group booking incentives. For example, we get every 21st person's stay rebated back to us.

Though I've never been to Jamaica, I do think your budget is doable. It really just depends on what type of wedding you're planning on having -- on a resort, at an all-inclusive, on a private estate, etc.? I know a lot of the resorts/all-inclusives offer wedding packages so you they'll supply you with vendor options and those prices are set. If you haven't already, I would suggest reaching out to the BDW travel agents as they can not only help you with picking the perfect place to stay, they can also be great sources for finding out approx. how much weddings costs at the different locations!

If you want to get some ideas of pricing, you might want to try one of the BDW Travel Agents.  They Specialize in Destination weddings. You can contact them HERE!

Hope that helps!!  ;)

@dathotgal - Every resort is different, but one thing I'd recommend checking right away is how many people are included in whatever package you may get and then how much it is per additional person. From what I've been hearing, many resort wedding packages only include 20-25 people. I know our resort (not in Jamaica) includes 20 people and we have to pay $45 per person after that. Also, as someone else mentioned, be careful of resorts that charge for every little thing (e.g. chairs, linens, etc.). That will add up very quickly, especially with sixty guests.

@@dathotgal My budget was 10k for a.wedding in Riviera Maya. We expected 75 guests. We have 97 confirmed and booked. Our final bill is looking to be around 21k. The things that ate our budget the most was: DJ, photographer, our airfare and acccomodations. Anything that has to do with wedding is included in this number. Im bringing my own decor and using silk flowers. Id probably cushion your budget with another 5 to 8k

I sure hope a Destination wedding budget of 10k for 30guests is good! I'm in the planning stages now but all of the hotels and packages seem so expensive when you look at the add ons.

I had 45 guests and my wedding only cost $6000. That was wedding day only

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
