Awww @veryvalentine I really hope this works out, but please don't stress! Weddings are stressful already and something can always be done about the dress. Plus you do still have some time to get it figured out! If I were you I would probably go in ASAP, I think just knowing what your options are might make you feel better? I wouldn't have any alterations done just yet, but maybe just see what they say?

Thanks @moonpalacebride2be for the advice. I think you are right. I don't necessarily have to go in for the alterations but just to find out if it actually was an error on their part so they can fix it or if that's the size and I need to figure out plan b.
Thanks!

Thanks ladies! @perianjay @TinkerSofi I have my appointment tomorrow. Fingers crossed.
I'm pretty close to considering a liquid diet. lol but ya, it's better to know what's going on. tomorrow is it! Thanks ladies.
The lady at the store did say that I was by far not the first bride to have this issue and she assured me there is a lot they can do., they just need to see how it fits. I hope I'm not the worst case scenario.

@veryvalentine I am sorry to hear about your dress! Dont fret too much. It will all work out in the end. I often question wedding dress sizes. They seem to be all over the place. I wouldnt be surprised if they took the wrong measurements or somehow managed to sew it wrong.
Like you I have had a similar dream. A couple weeks ago I had a dream that something happened to my dress and I ended up walking down the aisle with pjs, a blanket over my shoulders and a pillow. In my dream my mom snatched a teddy bear from my arms moments before I walked down with my dad. LOL

@MrsCtoB well everything except my dress. It's a bit of a debacle.
I was just reading your thread because you had mentioned your dress situation.
I picked up my dress last Thursday and it does not fit. Like barely goes past my butt.
I tried on a size 16 in store and it fit fine....I decided to order a 14 because I thought that I could lose enough weight. They warned me that it would be stiff since nobody would have tried it on. I thought that I would have been able to at least put it on and just have the back be a little to small...but no. I had a mega panic attack. I don't think the store made a mistake with the measurements. Anyway, I'm in hustle mode to lose the rest of the weight that I set out to lose. I need to lose 25-30lbs to make sure this dress fits. It's causing me a lot of heart ache. Nightmares.
Oh nooo!! I am so sorry love. I know exactly how you feel Luckily though, you have time to get this figured out. If it ends up that the dresses measurements are off, like mine, the bridal salon will definitely make it right. After what happened to me, I did some research and the whole incorrect dress measurement thing happens a lot!!! Make sure that you insist that the seamstress or one of the employees measure the dress (not the shell, the lining!) and measure you again also to make sure that everything matches their original record and that the measurements of the dress match the size chart advertised.
If it happens to be that everything is correct, I would still ask them to work with you. This type of thing happens ALL the time and they certainly have different avenues that they can consider to help you out, be it alterations or ordering another dress. I would get to the bridal salon sooner rather than later and get it all worked out. I know it is super stressful but I promise that it will all work out. Email me if you have any other questions or need any more help! I'll be thinking of ya!

@MrsCtoB you are so kind! Thank you for the advice. I'm going to go tomorrow. I rush home and tried it on and I was able to actually slip it on all the way. It's tight but I was expecting that. I'm feeling way more hopeful!

@calgarybride2015 what a dress roller coaster! Insane. I am going to see what they say tomorrow. I am a bit more hopeful now that I am able to actually put it on all the way. It's a corset so I have laced it up yet, they can do it.
thanks for the advice!
For a girl who can't really have any cake at all right now, I sure do I have a lot of cake toppers !!
My second cake topper came in today. It is papel picado and I love the look! I really liked this one more than the other one. We might use the "&" sign for our table decor at our sweet heart table.

It was beyond frustrating but for the best I got that size. A size bigger would have needed ++ taken in, so one let out was cheaper. Hurts the ego though so I get what you feel. Def see what they say and that corset will help you out too - mine was a zipper! Don't add too much stress to yourself though on losing weight -- see what your options are. Good luck.
Love that cake topper too! I also ordered one then changed my mind

And I love that papel picado cake topper! I can't wait to see everything come together, including you looking hot in your wedding dress (not your pj's)
