Those are awesome!

If I had known what a papel picado was before I planned our wedding I totally would have used it.

1) love the lashes
2) love the brows
3) love the welcome letter design and layout

Basically, love everything you've done. How are you doing? I hope you're feeling better and that the burn is healing nicely. ☺️

@veryvalentine
Love your planning thread! The dress is gorgeous and love the jewellery. I do not have an arty part of me so lucky we are doing the wedding with just the two of us.

Similarly my mom passed away a few years ago so between FI and I we only have one living parent who is horrid (FI's mom) so decided to go it alone. Glad in a way but also a little sad I couldn't talk to my mom about it. Any how....I ordered my dress yesterday....super excited!!

@veryvalentine I just spent the last hour reading through your entire thread. I am in love with everything you've done so far.

My resort and flight deposits are going in Monday and I cannot wait to start my planning. You've inspired me!...and scared me a little. You're so creative. I hope I can come up with ideas as beautiful as yours, and be able to execute as flawlessly.

Congratulations on what you've done so far. I can't wait to keep reading :)

A little bit of progress this weekend.

Bridesmaid dresses:

After waiting and waiting for the dress, it finally came in.  I ordered the dress in the colour 'coral' and it is very vibrant.  I originally had picked out the peach colour from Kleinfeld's Henkaa dresses but it was not quite the colour I wanted.  The Henkaa dresses are $169 but these dresses from DaintYard on etsy are about $65 + 20 shipping.  The quality of the DaintYard dresses are not quite as great as the Henkaa but they are still nice. They seems thinner and the quality isn't as nice as the Henkaa.   I think I'm going to go ahead and order the rest of the dresses from DaintYard as the price is great but I'm still torn because I really think the quality is much better at Henkaa.

Cake Topper

We went to the one-of-a-kind show and I found a vendor on Etsy that sells these cute 'papel picado' toppers and they are totally customizable.

($15 - lightPaper on etsy)

Makeup & Hair Trial

The make up is a little too strong for my liking.  I'm usually wearing barely any make up.  I might want it to be more on the natural side.  I do want to wear an accent lipstick for the reception.  My hair will be down for the wedding.  I'll be wearing a bird cage veil for the ceremony and flower crown for the reception.

I love the papel picado topper :). I think the makeup looks great but if you're not comfortable with it then it's ok to wear less :). It's all about owning the look, and if you're not comfortable it's very hard to own it.

@TinkerSofi  exactly and that's why I'm going to do a few more trials to find the right look.  Thankfully i have the time to do this I would hate to find out I had the wrong makeup the day of.  ;)

Yay! The dress came in. Do you think it's worth it to get the DaintYard dresses for the difference in price or is the quality really poor? I ordered my three dresses from them already.. I love the colour though! It looks great it photos.

Love the cake topper!!

Your makeup looks really pretty and i'm sure no matter what you tweak and change you will still look gorgeous. :)

@perianjay

I think that if I had nothing to compare to the dress to, I would love them.  I love the colour.  I'm going to have my sister who is my maid of honour, try them on and see what she thinks before I go ahead and order them.  Did you buy them for your bridesmaids as a gift?
