Veryvalero's Wedding Planning Thread - Grand Sunset Princess

Recommended Posts

Our Wedding Coordinator:

We started our planning with Guillermo at the Princess but about two months ago or so he changed jobs.  So we have recently started planning with a different planner.  Initially the back and forth was really slow.  Like, I understand the process required patience but sometimes the emails would come in like 3 weeks later.

Recently our communication has been excellent and she's been on top of everything.  I'm two months out and I feel very confident in her.  I think that given how much time and effort we're putting into this wedding, the wedding coordinator at the hotel is probably one the most important contacts we have.  I decided to put together a small gift bag to gift her when we meet at our first planning meeting when we arrive at the hotel.

She is apparently a big chocolate fan so we're gonna definitely buy her some Lindt chocolate and I'm thinking the outlet is the place to go!!   :)  I've also made her a pretty necklace and i'm going to bring her some bath and body works.  I'm trying to avoid "canadian" souvenirs as I find them a bit cheesy.  Anyway, I'm thinking a happy wedding coordinator = a happy bride!   :)

She's also offered to purchase a pinata for us in playa del carmen if we didn't want to go and get it ourselves.  So nice. :)

The FI just designed the logo that we are going to place on our welcome bags!  It includes our hashtag but doesn't have our names so it can still be used even after the wedding if they wanted to.

your coordinator sounds like one sweet lady! haha. There's no way ours would volunteer to go get us a piñata without charging us another $200 for it hahah. I think she deserves a gift and i'm sure she'll be happy with what you have planned ;)

I'm happy your guys chose the glittery table numbers. They're just so awesome. I love glitter but I don't think it really goes with our wedding :P (too bad haha)

I think the bags turned out great! Are you doing an iron on transfer?

@TinkerSofi   I know!  I was so surprised at how she offered to do that!

I am so torn about the welcome bags.  The hotel gives every guests a cotton princess bag.  So we thought if we do our own tote it's overboard.  But then we designed the fun logo anyway in case we just give our guests gift bags and place the sticker of the logo on it.

I would consider doing iron on transfer if I could find the tote bags cheap but I haven't been able to find them at all.

Sparklers party 2!  So we tried printing them on the gold paper!  I really like it!  We are probably going to change the wording because you can't really read the smaller font.

It's going to add to the gold and sparkle!

I know what you mean. The totes can be expensive and if the hotel already give them to you it might be an overkill. You can also put that money towards something else for your guests! What do you have planned to give them? (Maybe you've mentioned that before and I missed it. I'm sorry). Depending on what you have you could either use the label on tags for the gifts or just get paper bags and stick the label on to there. I think that would look nice :). That was our plan before I found bags that we could afford

My fiance works in the print industry so he found out about this "printable" paper through a conference he attended.

I can share the vendor name if anyone is interested.   :)

I love the sparkler tag, it will look so nice! And I love the pinata idea, it sounds so fun. I don't think there's anywhere to hang it on the terrace where we're having our reception :(

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
