I don't see why it would be. Although if they visit each other's house u may not want to send them both different invites. That might get questions thrown at u lol

Hi SWO Brides.  I'm getting married in SWO Oct 02, 2015.  I'm getting nervous.  I'm working on welcome bags and favors.  SWO WC has some issues and might not have a back up plan for inclement weather.  I should be hearing from them in a few days!!! Im trying not to panick!!!!

Plus I wanted to hire an outside DJ, if it's cheaper!!!

Do you all have any suggestions or recommendations?

Try not to be nervous. What issues are they having? I know some brides use I believe it's called the Seawind Beach Club for their reception.

I'm sure everything with be Beautiful!!

They seem to have booked another big event and they want to use all the ballrooms.  THey are meeting with them this weekend to see exactly what's needed. So it's only if there is some type of inclement weather, there are going to be issues.  We are scheduled to talk this week... But as I mentioned before I'm trying not to panick and get upset.

I'm sure everything will work out fine. One good thing, at least when I have been in Jamaica, the rain is quick and passing. Crossing my fingers for you.

Ok.so I just found out the SWO's only solution to the issue is that they want "ME" to pay for a tent just in case there is inclement weather. Because they have a huge event that was booked over a year ago where this company wants all of the indoor ballrooms. So initially I only reserved the outdoor venue for 10 people, but was told that I can ALWAYS upgrade.  So now that I have been trying to upgrade for 25 people, SWO is telling me that theydon't have a back up venue (indoor) in case of inclement weather. I think this is unfair.  I was asked to rent a tent in case it rains, at my expense or I can consider changing my date to the next day and only 11am and 2pm  are available.   I AM DO FURIOUS!!!! and don't know what to do.  Of course it's too late to cancel.  If it were just my funds I would, However I have these 25 people that have paid their balances.  ANY SUGGESTIONS!!  Everytime I call them I get so upset I want to fuss and cuss, but I am going to start crying!!!! HELP!!

@ pjsandwich Getting ready to turn in my wedding planner form.  Is there anything that you thought was worth the extra money to get, and /or what did you think was a BIG waste of money to get.

I see they added a lot of new "Extras" you can purchase.

On my ~2 month countdown now.  Getting excited!!   :D

Hi @@pjsandwich! Thank you soooooo much for your review! I too am getting married there and was planning to do my ceremony at Barracuda and have the reception in ballroom.i too don't want my guests sweating bullets lol! I have a question: did you switch out your chairs in the ballroom or did you use the chairs that are already in the ballroom? Just wondering if they are wedding appropriate or not.

Did you use a DJ? If so, which DJ did you get?

@@RandL2015 The extras that we got were the 4 post arch, DJ and sound system. Personally, I liked the arch because it added a little something to our pictures. We also got the sound system so there would be music while walking down the aisle. I think I would've skipped this. It was not worth the $180 in my opinion. I also wanted this so there would be mics provided during the vows, but there were no mics! It lists that it includes the speaker, mics and ipod player. I guess I should've asked the coordinator when we met just to confirm, but I assumed it would be ready on the day of. Such a disappointment since not everyone was able to hear our vows. The DJ was also worth getting because it was one less thing to worry about for the night and he kept the party going and everyone was on the dance floor! Congrats on reaching your 2 month mark!!

@@KG1990 For both the ceremony and ballroom we had the chairs that were included in the package - which were the chairs with the white covers. We used a DJ, the one we got as an extra through the resort. We didn't get his name though since he didn't introduce himself lol

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
