@@TinkerSofi for your DIY photobooth did you use the fuji instant cameras? Or was it done on an Ipad photobooth app? I love the props!

We actually used a DSL-r camera on a tripod :). It was fun! Yeah they don't look professional but we had fun and they make me laugh when I see them haha

They actually look great!! Thats why i asked! Im in between getting the fuji camera or maybe just getting a tripod with a camera and playing it from there. I think it could be a fun thing to add into all the thank you cards ( the silly photo booth pics)

Thanks! That's what I was planning on doing as well. I don't think I have a picture of everyone, but I'll use the ones I have. I felt that the reception went by so quickly! I even barely had time to make it to the photo booth! I was enjoying the music way too much haha.

@@TinkerSofi Your review was amazing and your pictures are stunning!  It looks like you guys definitely had a blast!  I'm so happy for you!  Everything came together so nicely.

Thank you! Our photographer said we should have our photos fairly quickly, probably in about a week, so I'm super excited to see those. I'll also post a full review for him when I get them :)

So I just went through your entire thread again...just to catch up on a few things and remind my self of what you were doing...I've missed out on so much I'm just catching up!

First of all Congrats!! You are not a Mrs! And soon you will have your new house and be able to start your brand new life together! That's so exciting!!

You looked so Pretty and Happy at your Legal Ceremony! and loved how you went to the fields around your new house for pictures. Your Dad did a great job with those.

The spa Bridal suit was so pretty! and I think your hair and make up looked beautiful for both the trial and the wedding!

I also watched your wedding ceremony on Ustream...BEAUTIFUL!!!! OMG! You made a Gorgeous Bride! And Juan was pretty handsome.

I loved all your guest photos and I cant wait to see the professional ones! The photobooth pictures were pretty funny, I'm glad that it was a suscess and I think you should read the cards now and on your first anniversary like @@calgarybride2015 said.

What were your guest reactions to the welcome bags? I'm sure they must of loved them!

Thank you! Some new ones got posted today on facebook by more friends. I've been meaning to create a flick account for everyone to share their photos but I just haven't had time! aha.

The week was amazing! I really wish Juan and i had been able to stay a few more days after everyone left, but oh well. I felt like I was always torn, wanting to spend time with him, but also with guests. In the end I did the best I could, but I wish I had more time to enjoy the beach and time with our guests. It all went by way too quickly, but yet we have so many memories that you'd think we were there 2 weeks! haha.

@@Meandhim I loved how the hair and makeup turned out. As I said before, I took a bit of a risk going with the hotel spa because I hadn't heard a lot about them and i hadn't seen many pictures of their work. However, they surprised me with how good they were and I wondered why people were paying $800 to bring someone else in haha. The service there was amazing, they were even so patient with me when I got sick while on my hair trial. I felt really bad for them :(

The guests loved the bags!! It was so funny because Juan was totally against the whole idea, but when we were there he said "I have to eat my words, those were a great idea". I was like "HA! i told you so!"- This happened a lot may I add, with him admitting that all the work I put in really paid off, despite his doubts haha..

Most people wore the glasses all week, and they all went crazy over those waterproof pouches I got for the guys! Looking back, I should have bought one for everyone. The girls usually ended up stealing them from the guys hahah, and somehow my brother ended up without one :P. They were not fully waterproof, I took one to Xel-Ha to put my glasses in there while we swam down the lazy river by the end the pack had water in it and my glasses were wet (which i didn't really care, thankfully). They're more waterproof when you first get them, but I guess as you keep opening and closing them, the zipper becomes weaker and then water leaks in. People still used them, as it will protect your phone from the sand and drops of water here and there, if say, you leave it by the pool. They're just not good enough for swimming with your phone in there.

I didn't see a lot of girls wearing the sarongs, but a few of them did, including myself.

For the emergency kits, this was a huge hit! Most people (including me) got sick at one point or other, so I got a lot of comments of how much of a lifesaver these things were. People also broke nails and needed the nail file. One of my MOHs got a bunch of cuts on her toes from too much dancing haha, so she basically used everyone's supply of band aids hahah. This was another thing that Juan was very set on not doing and I went behind his back and did it anyway. He was happy I did!

Isn't that funny!!  I'm so glad you did the things you wanted to do.  Groomzillo and I had those moments too.  We actually found his dad being a little critical with us.  He saw us putting together all our giveaways and was being a little judgmental about the amount of money we were spending.  Once at the resort, and around his family and friends, he was finally like, wow, everyone loves these and we were both so happy we did it. He definitely ate his words.  Sometimes people have a hard time seeing the big picture.

The only thing I didn't do, and Groomzillo got in my way, was the walky talkies!  That would have helped us out a lot because some areas didn't have wifi.  And our parents don't have cellphones so that would have helped.  My husband said they were a waste and I literally ran out of time to get them, I had a pocket of time that I could have gotten them in ...but it just didn't happen.

did you guys end up using them?

yeah! The funniest one was when I pulled out my vows book and he's like "don't I have one?!" and I told him, I figured you were going to say that it was a stupid idea so I didn't get you one. He just laughed and hugged me lol. He knew it was true, but then he was jealous I had a fancy book and he didn't hahah. He ended up writing his vows the day of the wedding, on a hotel notepad *facepalm*, you can see he's laughing about it on the video hahah.

Juan brought his walkie talkies but for some reason they didn't work. They were charged and everything, but nothing. Our hotel was great with wifi, so we all just used whastapp to communicate and it worked out wonderfully.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
