@Smellsey wasn't the dollar at $0.80 for most of last week - wouldn't it have been around $10,000 - worried that you lost $1000 somewhere - eek!

I feel your pain too...I'm watching the dollar like a hawk and trying to figure out the best time to put money in my US account.

No when we transferred it was at 0.79. I don't know the exact amount - it wasn't $9,00 on the dot. but it was definitely under 10,000.

They say it is not going to get better than it is right now for at least a year.

:( ...the only silver lining for me is that our dollar being so low is good for my business (I working in the entertainment industry). I'm just hoping that business is so good this year that it off sets the costs of the wedding. Here's hoping!

I still have hopes for the Canadian dollar. I also heard that it shouldn't go much lower than it has and that if it does it will likely be early 2016. I'm willing to take my chances and hope for a miracle.

The dollar really put a damper on our budget.  At the time that we signed our contract everything was at par. We are going to open a U.S account to start saving some US just in case it drops any lower.  I've heard that it won't go much lower and I've heard from others that it will continue to drop.  Much like the weather and gas prices, I'm sure that nobody really knows anything.lol

@veryvalentine Good idea with the US account! It's crazy to think that not long ago we were at par. Totally kicking myself now for not saving money into a US account back when it was at par! I just put a deposit down today for my videographer.. $480 USD was $628 CDN. UGH :( giant frown right now.

I feel for you all. The only wedding charge I had in usd was the photog. My resort charged in peso.

@calgarybride2015

that was a true score.  I wonder if there is a way to request peso pricing.  Im sure they would just make it whatever the equivalent was in U.S.

@perianjay  I'm totally kicking myself too.  Like I grew up in a border city where the dollar has always fluctuated and nothing is forever.  I am going to start up this account and keep it for good because when it is at par I will be buying aggressive to make some $ off the exchange.

Yeah, it sucks, which is why I'm super excited about them waiving the ceremony fee. $950 when put into CAD is a lot right now! so that would help out so much in terms of our budget.

I don't think it's going to get better either so I've come to accept it now. I basically blew all my money on buying the trips to Argentina, but the longer I waited for that the higher the prices would get (they can get up to $2000 each ticket :wacko:) so now it's time to start saving again and start paying the big wedding bills.

Jewelry is here! Yay!! I am in love with the earrings :). I didn't take a picture of them on me because I had just come back from the gym and I would have ruined the look haha.
