Haha I know how you feel too. Kyle is so funny when I started making my OOT bags this weekend. He was like what are you doing? You have 9 months to make those. He claims he's going to put together the bags for the groomsmen... I just laughed because If I left it up to him he would do it the day before flying out and would be nothing summery in it since we are getting married in February haha. Men...

Juan said the same! he's like, why are you doing that now, let's do that over there. I told him that if he plans to have ANY sort of vacation over there we better start doing some things here. He also wanted to assemble all the flowers once we got there. If he only knew how long each of these things took me he'd know that if we left it all to be done in Mexico, by the time the wedding rolled around I would be a crazy b***, and i'm sure he doesn't want to deal with that hahah.

I love your vows! I love that you've chosen to do them in Spanish, it sounds so romantic. I agree with everyone that you should have your vows sound like yourself. It sounds more genuine that way.

@@yycbride2016 @@TinkerSofi My fiance was the same way the entire way through planning. Every single thing was "Why are we doing this now?" I kept saying "Do you want me to be an anxious, nervous wreck through the wedding day, or do you want to relax and have fun together and with our guests? Fun? Yeah, I thought so...now get to work!" Haha. It worked pretty well :)

thank you :D

We are both doing them in Spanish because it's both our first language and I would feel silly doing them in English. I'd feel like I'm putting more of a show rather than making a vow to my husband (wow, that word sounds so weird). However, if your fiance speaks English only I think it would make sense to do them in English, unless he also understands Spanish. Then I would be super torn too haha.

Today I went to indigo looking for a gift and I found the perfect little journal for my wedding vows. @ made me consider this and I had no idea where I'd write them. I certainly didn't want a piece of paper blowing in the wind + my shaky hands haha but I wasn't sure that I wanted to buy it off of etsy. I love the ones on there but we've had quite a few unexpected expenses lately (wedding related and not) so I'm basically trying to save wherever I can. I had a gift card for indigo so that worked out really well .

Friday is the final day for our trips deadline. Yay!! I can't wait to hear the final numbers . Other than a few last min drama, things have gone quite smoothly, maybe my TA would disagree hahah. We just had one person cancel last min and didn't tell anyone, leaving their roommate with single occupancy. He didn't tell us he wasn't coming and I found out through my TA two days ago. Luckily we were able to sort everything out (not without some drama as well) and the crisis was averted, but let's just say we weren't too happy about that, especially Juan. Not because he cancelled but because of the way we found out. There's still no word from him.

On top of this, work has been quite stressful. I'm just a mess of anxiety and I don't know how I'm going to get through the next two months. I hope things settle down once we have paid everything. I'm really trying to let things slide as much as I can but it's hard when things just keep piling up. I basically have the song let it go on repeat in my head haha.

Tomorrow we start our dance lessons for our first dance! I'm excited but don't know what to expect haha. I'll let you guys know how it goes :)

@@TinkerSofi your wedding vows book is so cute! That will be so special at your wedding! And can be a keepsake following!

I can't believe someone backed out and left another person stranded as a single traveller! That's shocking. I hope that doesn't happen to us. We need 10 double rooms to have a free wedding and at the moment we have exactly that so if anyone backs out we will have to drastically increase our budget!

Good luck with the dance classes! That's so cute and such a great way to get some together time amongst all the crazy wedding planning. Not sure I could convince my FI to do that haha.

@@TinkerSofi I LOVE your journal for your vows! It's making me want to go to Indigo. I keep going in there and picking up decor items and then putting them back down because they are big, heavy and not necessary but so cute and in my wedding colours - haha!

Sorry to hear about your guest backing out like that. I can't believe he wouldn't tell you especially leaving a roommate with a single occupancy. Glad you were able to work it all out though.

Please update us on your dance lessons - I'm so excited for you!! I think no matter how it goes, it will be something fun for you guys to do together. Maybe it will take some stress off the wedding planning.

@@yycbride2016 thanks. Yeah the book looks quite big in that picture but it's about the size of an iphone, super cute :).

I honestly don't know why he would do that. Apparently he couldn't get the time off work, but it would have been nice to at least get a text message, sometime before the last 3 days before the deadline (they thought the deadline for paying was today). When it comes to disorganization, flakiness, and drama us Latinos take the cake so I shouldn't be surprised. It was too much to ask to have no drama when payments were due. I guess we kind of live in a soap opera, that's the best way to describe it haha. I hope your guests don't do the same. Maybe some will drop out, but you might also get some more guests from now until the wedding. I don't know how it works for you but for us, anyone who booked at our hotel through our TA counted towards the group, whether they booked in the first room block or not.

@@snswedding2016 they have so many cute things!! I wanted to take half the store. I also love all kinds of stationery so I want to take everything usually haha. I already saw a few things i want for our new house :D

I'm very excited about the dancing. I feel like the wedding is just eating up our time and we're not spending a lot of quality time together. Also when I get stressed I sort of get into my own little bubble, I don't talk much and don't want to be around people, so that hasn't helped. I'm just hoping that the moves won't be too high above our skill level so that we can actually enjoy it rather than worrying about learning all these moves haha. Our teacher will be the lady who teaches us the group lessons during the weekends, so she kind of knows where we're at in terms of skills :)

@@TinkerSofi That's a cute little book! And the color is perfect for me, too. Might have to check it out. I wasn't planning on getting vow folders/books/what are they called? but in seeing them I also have started wondering what to use instead. A bunch of post-it notes stuck to my hands?  :P

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
