Tinkersofi's Planning Thread - Azul Fives August 13, 2015

Wow I am so far behind! I can't believe you leave NEXT SUNDAY!!!!! Aahhhhhh!! lol Your wedding for me is like Kristy's was... one I'm so very much waiting to see pictures of!!! You have put so much hard work into putting your special day together it's going to be absolutely amazing!! Don't sweat the small stuff now. Everything has come together in such an amazing way! Ha ha - your "to do" list has really gotten short!!! I remember how it was way back when.....

Definitely get in touch with your photographer and find out about their timing (if they split up or work in tandem). As much as you're the client, they're the experts. Work with what they want to do. That's how you get awesome photos!! If you've done a list, make a duplicate and have someone on hand keep it. Just in case. Things do happen, and if someone goes astray.... then the in charge person will know to send out the search party to make sure the missing person is found for your photos. As @@veryvalentine noted, things can get a bit chaotic and shots do get missed.

I like the ring engraving idea too, especially if you have a hubby that is going to forget the anniversary date! lol You'd be surprised though how many men actually do remember!

Love the jewellery! And to finally receive it after all the aggravation must be a huge relief! Plus getting your house possession date! Wow - it must feel like winning the lottery! lol (well maybe not quite thaaaaat good.....)

You should post a couple of pics from your shower!

Remember what I just said... "don't sweat the small stuff"  Don't be paranoid about your wedding day timeline. The thing is - if people want to go do something on their own for 10 minutes or half an hour, they're going to. Especially at a DW. So don't be too rigid on your timeline because it will only upset you even more if something goes wacky and your timeline goes wacky with it!! You're so organized - it's all going to go just fine but don't get so worked up that you don't enjoy it. Be ready to hand over stuff to some other people when you get there.

I love that little quote. I might steal part of it. It makes you get teary eyed!  I'm happy your MOH realized something wasn't right BEFORE you left! Good for her!!

A gremlin huh? yeah I can relate. you think the hair growth is bad now? ha ha just wait until you get older! you'll be looking for a discount rate on the laser treatment!! (jk)

And I agree with @calgarybride2015  Juan is NOT going to get tired of you! @@beckys98 is totally right too!! Doug and I have been together nearly 14 years and that man can still make my stomach do flip flops! He left this afternoon on his own with the trailer and I'm meeting up with him on Saturday (he gets a crap load more vacation than I do!). I'm so excited to have the house to myself tonight!! Really! But I know by the time Saturday rolls around and I'm driving to upstate New York I'll be looking forward to seeing him. He travels for work too sometimes - a whole lot less now than he used to - and I hardly sleep while he's gone and I expect an email or phone call from him every day! Sometimes if he's in Europe that's not always easy! lol Mexico City not so bad. Germany with a 6 hour time difference is harder. It's all going to be fine. You love each other, and yes there will be a period of adjustment for both of you. But if you didn't love each other you wouldn't be getting married. You'll have a new house to look forward to as well! It's an exciting time! Be young and enjoy it!!

Absolutely don't do anything new this close to your wedding unless you're certain it won't affect you!! I don't understand the fake eyelashes thing. I've never ever worn them in my life lol I think a good lash building mascara will be fine BUT I things are different now. I think MAC will be able to recommend something for you especially if you already have nice lashes.

I'm going to say it again - it will all work out beautifully and you're going to be a gorgeous bride!!! You're in good shape. You're organized. Don't overthink things. I so can't wait to see pictures and ones using your props!!!!

@@acw271011 thanks! Oh my god! Yes, next sunday! So little time, so many things to do! hahah Work just kind of exploded on me right now too. I'm trying to keep calm so I don't get sick when we go to Mexico or I don't get cold sores. I'm just so done with work haha, it's so hard to concentrate :P. Excitement is building up!!

I'll post some pictures of the bridal shower, I was going to and then totally forgot haha.

I asked the photographer about the timeline. I think now everything set up with him. I gave him what I had in mind and he said that it looked good and it was realistic. He said they usually arrive an hour before the ceremony and then take getting ready pictures up until 5 min before the ceremony. We're doing a favour for him so in return he was nice enough to give us an extra hour for free :), which is so awesome! Now I'm working on just letting go, I am a total control freak, but I think once I'm there I won't care so much. As long as people and us are having fun everything will be ok. That's the main goal of the day. The timeline is a bit more strict at the beginning but after we hit the reception I have "estimates", sort of guidelines I guess. I think it will make everyone's life a lot easier.

My brother agreed to be the MC! :D I'm happy about this choice because well, he's my brother and he knows us both so well. He's one charismatic guy. He actually offered to do it.

Yesterday I ended up moving our legal ceremony from next friday at 1:30 to 4:30. Juan's dad (his only family here) won't be able to make it because he didn't take the day off. I still don't know why. I told Juan that he should just call in sick hahha, or work only half day. This poor man has been working for like 8 years without a vacation and he never calls in sick. I don't think they'll say anything for one day.

Glad everything is coming together.

Is Juan's dad going to Mexico? I believe he is, so I can understand his nerves if he won't even take a sick day. I am glad you were able to compromise so he could be there.

Glad everything is working out with the photographer. I am also very controlling and I was able to let go. It makes it so much more enjoyable when you just let them do their job and you enjoy your moment. You will be fine :) You are in good hands.

Thanks guys. I haven't had much time to comment because I've been so busy. I've worked pretty much all weekend plus all the last minute things, let's just say my stress is at it's peak right now. I just don't know how I'll get everything done. On top of that, work keep piling on this week. I had a bit of a meltdown on Sunday when I got yet another request for work this week. Agh!! All I'm praying for is that my client today finishes early. This is usually the opposite of what I want because I get paid by the hour, and I have to leave when my clients finish their testing, but I've had a streak of clients needing extra time and me staying extra hours. I just can't afford that anymore :(

Yesterday I worked with my MOH on the music. That's pretty much done. I just have to get some extra songs and add them on to the playlist. We got so many songs that we're definitely not going to run out hahah.

Today is waxing day!! Finally!!! It's been so hot over here and me with my jeans, it's been unbearable hahah.

Other than that, today is the day to begin packing and to go over the timeline with my brother (now the MC) :)

Oh no, I'm sorry to hear about your stress.  I hope things calm down a bit for you so you have time to finish the tasks you need to.  At the end of the day everything will be fine.  You've put so much work into your wedding that I'm certain everything will turn out just the way you want it to.  I can't believe you're leaving in 9 days!  Are you working up until you leave or did you take time off before?

P.S. I'm so happy for you! And I can't wait to see pictures of everything!

Hope the stress levels calm down. Just remember there is a light at the end of the tunnel now. 4 days of work and you are off to paradise. You'll get it done :)

Yeah..... what Kim said lol

Take a deep breath, close your eyes, count to 10 and relax! I know, I know. The old lady has no clue what she's talking about.... With all my heart, believe me when I say it will be fine!

Oh no, im so sorry to hear work has made this week so stressful for you. You are so prepared so at least you do t have to worry about your wedding planning! Pat yourself in the back because if you think about it, had you not been so organized, work would not have been the only stressor. You're lucky in that it's only work. Pretty soon you'll be done and once you're on that plane, work can't follow you to Mexico! You'll leave it behind and you'll only have your wedding to Juan to concentrate on. Woohoo!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
