Tinkersofi's Planning Thread - Azul Fives August 13, 2015

Recommended Posts

We ended up going with Tamara Jones and we're getting married July 7th, so pretty much in exactly one month! In hindsight we probably could have gone with someone a bit cheaper but my mom was like "this is the day that counts!" etc, so we basically got peer pressured haha and she was recommended by another bride on here. Maybe I think that way because at this point I'm just beyond the caring haha, whereas when I booked her I was all into the details . It's crazy how your perception changes as you get closer to the date haha.

I paid with paypal so maybe I could go that route :). thanks!

Glad the pressure is off for the dance and absolutely that's why it's going more smoothly! Guys just don't do well with pressure like that lol Women excel at it but guys just don't!

I would start a dispute resolution with PayPal and start a trace with Canada post. Your case will be that it was registered and your tracking number. Open a file with them and put the pressure on them. Push that it's stuff for your wedding and you ordered it in plenty of time, yada yada. You already said you know the drill lol But kick up a huge stink about it. It's the only thing that gets their attention. I did a dispute resolution with PayPal and they were great. Got my money back within 2 weeks. Good luck!

Hope you're doing a couple of pics of the "legal"!

Ok, that's good to know! I'm just going to start that today because I'm done with Canada Post. My necklace was in Calgary yesterday and all of a sudden today is in Richmond BC. WTF??! It seriously isn't rocket science to deliver a package to the right place. I'm so frustrated right now! Does anyone know who I can contact to make sure they don't deliver it to the wrong place?

@tinkersofi  Believe me when I say there is no rhyme or reason to Canada post's delivery patterns and I'm dead serious when I say that!!! I'm not being facetious! If I remember correctly Richmond BC is a major hub but why it would go from the delivery city back to Richmond is anyone's guess. I would go after them and keep after them. And then they wonder why they're losing money and people hardly use the service anymore..... lol

Exactly! If only they were a bit more efficient I'm sure they could find a lot of lost money haha. It's really really frustrating.

Yes, it's been a process haha. It's still in BC! Work and life has been a little bit crazy the last few days so I haven't had a chance to call Canada Post. I'm so overwhelmed!

We're getting legally married on Aug 7, so not yet! Otherwise I would have posted pictures already ;) hahah. I still have to e-mail the person marrying us (I forgot what they're called haha), with our reading and telling her we're just doing the regular old vows. Again, no time for anything!

Richmond, BC is where the Vancouver airport is located. Have no idea why that's where they would chose to send your package, but it makes sense in terms of shipping hubs. You should get really worried if it ends up in Prince Rupert or Kamloops  :D

P.S. Good luck!  :)

@@vancouverpetunia I finally called today. Apparently there is a problem with the address and couldn't be delivered. I contacted the seller, they told me that by putting a trace on the package it can be fixed and will be delivered. I just hope that all of this happens on time. Otherwise I don't know, I might just not have a necklace :(, unless I find something here locally.

As to the other package, well, CP says that customs hasn't released it back to them. This is all he said she said. CP is saying that there is a big red warning on it and customs needs to inspect it closer. It's cheap jewelry for crying out loud, I'm not trying to import blood diamonds here. They told me to check the customs website for answers on what I could do but that website is just useless. I'm just hopeless at this point that any of this stuff will make it back to me  :(

I have faith for your necklace but not so sure I'd bank on the BMs stuff. Which really sucks big time :( I certainly hope it works out or you can find a good alternative. What has PayPal said?

I complained big time today with Canada post and told them that it was ridiculous that I had to go through the Australian postal office for a package that I knew was mine and that was right here in Canada! I checked with the seller and the address was right by the way. They opened up a dispute for me and said that it should arrive within the next week. I told them that it better because I was sick of them losing my packages. Let's hope that it does arrive in the next week, I'm crossing my fingers.

I also don't know about the BM gifts since they insist that it's in customs and there is just nothing I can do .

As for paypal, it opened up a dispute with the seller, not with Canada post or customs. I know for certain that it's not the seller's fault so I feel pretty bad about it. The seller is on vacation right now but she wrote to me saying that she will try to look into it.

However, the good news is that CP hasn't lost everything! Haha. My brochures arrived today. I'm so happy with how they turned out!

Also, the rest of my photo booth props arrived. I'm also very happy with them. I paid $3 for them on eBay and they're really good! I haven't assembled them yet because I learned my lesson. I assembled about half of the photo booth signs and now I'm having trouble packing them haha, so I'm bringing my hot glue gun to Mexico to finish putting these together. post-265511-143658702287_thumb.jpgpost-265511-143658703768_thumb.jpgpost-265511-143658705005_thumb.jpgpost-265511-143658705668_thumb.jpgpost-265511-143658706418_thumb.jpg

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
