@@TinkerSofi sending lots of good healing vibes to your dad for a speedy recovery!!

thanks! :)

This is completely true! I thought my fiance would flake out on it a bit but he was very diligent about going twice per week and he would also swim once he was allowed. It is SO important! The only issue he has is he has to be careful which gym shoes he buys because some come up higher in the back and rub the scar, but he still plays basketball 3 times per week!

that's awesome to know that if enough effort is put in things can turn out great! :D

Sorry I've been MIA for so long now! I'm so sorry to hear about your dad! I really hope he gets healed up but I think he will. If the timeframe is 9 weeks then physio he should be in good shape to enjoy both his vacation and your wedding! Positive thoughts!!

Your guestbook cards are so cute!! What a neat idea!

This weekend somewhat productive day in the wedding planning department. Most of it involved shopping though haha.

I'm done with the bridesmaid gifts. I'm getting their dresses so I didn't want to spend too much. I got 4 gifts even though I only have 2 bridesmaids but 2 are for Juan's sisters. I didn't really get the response I wanted from him. He said that it was totally unecessary and I basically wasted my money :(. He also said that I'm being way too generous. I don't know, he seemed to be in somewhat of a bad mood today. I didn't even mention to him what he was going to get the groomsmen because it would have ended in somewhat of an argument, which I didn't have the energy for. Anyways, back to the gifts themselves. I got them a pendant and earrings from a seller on etsy, they come in a little box with a message that says "I couldn't say I do without you".

I also got my garter from etsy. My plan was also to go cheap here because I didn't think it was all that important but I wanted to have one. I found one that I liked for $6 with $3 shipping so I was sold haha.

I'm all set in terms of bathing suits and beach gear. I went to the mall this week with a friend and we tried on some bathing suits so I got one. I tried one of those high waisted bottoms and I thought I would hate it, but surprisingly it looked really good :). My bathing suit addiction is officially out of control. When I came home I set them all on my bed and counted how many combinations I could have. Let's just say I could go on vacation for about 3 weeks without ever repeating the same combination haha. I need to stop buying them :(. I also got a really nice floppy hat which makes me feel like Carmen Sandiego/J.Lo :P

Tomorrow is my alterations appointment. You really wouldn't know considering how much bread I stuffed my face with today :(. I know, it's awful but I couldn't stop, I just love bread too much. On the bright side, if it fits after eating bread, it'll fit in Mexico, right? haha. I'll make sure to eat light things tomorrow at work that won't bloat me, otherwise I'll come out of that appointment feeling miserable. Wish me luck!

@@TinkerSofi haha love your Carmen Sandiego reference!! Sounds like you had a very productive weekend!!

Do you mind sharing your the etsy seller you used for your garter? that's also on my to do list.

Sending you good dress fitting vibes!! I totally agree - if it looks good after all the bread it will look great in Mexico! My designer said the same thing to me after I had some fittings during the holidays …after all of the Christmas cookies!  ;)

Just looked at your ticker - 3 months and 3 days!!! Woohoo! I just got really excited for you! Sooooo soon!!!

I know! It's getting so close, I can't believe it. It's been forever since I've wanted for the time to pass by :P

The vendor for the garter is mythreeaunts and she's in Toronto, so you might even be able to pick it up! haha. I think you'll like some of her stuff since it seems we have very similar tastes :).

This is the one I got. I don't know if you guys will be able to see it, but i'll try.

@@TinkerSofi Oh no, so sorry to hear about your dad.  I hope he's okay.  I love your guestbook cards, it's such a great idea.

@@TinkerSofi Your weekend sounded really productive!  Your bridesmaids gifts sound really nice.  Don't worry about what your fiance thinks in regards to the gifts.  Men generally don't know anything about wedding etiquette or planning.  My fiance is mostly disinterested in stuff.  He doesn't understand why I'm doing any sort of planning here.  I feel like they just think weddings happen without any sort of work.

I also need a garter too lol.  I also want to go cheap with the garter as well.  I'm sure your dress fitting will go well =)

I can't believe you're at the 3 month mark already, so exciting!

I can't believe it's only 3 months either! I'm starting to freak out a bit.

I can't wait to be at this appointment. I definitely do not want to be at work today haha

That's really sweet of you to have his sister's in mind. They will appreciate it, i'm sure :)

Yay for high waisted bottoms!! I have been pinning so many on pinterest and going to try some on this summer. They will look so cute!!

Good luck with your alterations.. I totally understand the love for bread. I love carbs so much and my body doesn't haha

I think they will. Even though they're  standing on his side they'll probably change with us and I wouldn't feel right giving my bridesmaids something and nothing to them. They are basically my family too now. I'll tackle the groomsmen gifts at some other point. I'll definitely get my brother something because he's my man of honor :) but I don't know how to bring up the subject with Juan haha, since he's so obviously against it.

You know i really didn't like those bathing suit bottoms when I saw them and I tried it on for giggles basically and then Juan said that I needed to get it and he loved them. There's some out there that are definitely better than others, the ones I got are basically like a one piece cut in half, others are very grandmaish. I got mine from Pink.

I was just talking to a friend today and telling her I could eat pasta for breakfast, lunch and dinner every day hahah. Of course I'd look like I'm 4 months pregnant all the time so I can't haha.

I called the place about the bridemaid dresses today and they told me they have been shipped! yay!! I can't wait to see them.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
