I found the link to the glasses. They're perfect! Thanks.

Question. Where did you find the little stamps at Michaels? I've looked there both yesterday and today, and couldn't find anything travel related at all. Also, the lantern at IKEA - is that a seasonal item or is it something they carry all the time? I love the white. Are they expensive? The nice thing is I pretty much need only one. I want to do a cake table I think but I don't think I need any decoration for it.

@@acw271011 great! Yeah, and you don't have to personalize them if you don't want to. I thought they're really good quality for the price and the colors are super nice and bright :)

Last time I was at Michael's I saw the stamps by where all their Martha Stewart stuff is and sort of the first aisle of the scrapbooking section. On the other side of that they have the scrapbooking albums. At least the way the store I go to is set up, that's the first aisle. They come in a mason jar with a bunch of them. I posted the picture with only a few of them. You can always take the picture with you and ask one of the ladies there, if you tell them they  come in a mason jar I'm sure they'll know where they are. They're not with the rest of the stamps though.

I'm not sure if Ikea has those lanterns year around. I actually bought them used from a girl on kijiji hahah (I feel so cheap for even saying that hahah :P). However, I do know that they bring them in every year and they have some now. I need a couple more so I need to head there to pick those up.

There are some nice lanterns out there, but Michael's were always more expensive, and I can't remember about Oriental Trading. I really liked the ones from Ikea and the price was right.

I'm not sure if it's worth it, but a lady over in the Riviera Maya rents out decor to brides. Her prices are really good and you just meet up with her, she gives you the stuff and then meet her again to return it. I think it would be worth it if you're renting a few things from her because you have to pay a transport fee (something like $10 or $15), you can find her if you search Love & Lace Wedding Decor on facebook. She has pictures of everything on there and prices. She has a few lanterns in different sizes.

@@acw271011 ikea lanterns are seasonal but they are spring / summer so you should be able to get them now or soon check online under the seasonal or outdoor section

Update on the Attire

This weekend we went to pick out Juan's suit. He ended up buying it at Harry Rosen, and paying a little bit more than he wanted but just the look on his face was priceless haha (it was like the say yes to the dress moment but man version hahah). I was happy for him :).  He bought a made to measure suit because they were having a special and the price was around the same as some of the other ones he liked, with the plus that he could change all the things he didn't quite like on the already made ones and he got to pick the fabric.

He ended up choosing a blue fabric, it's not navy and it's not light blue either, somewhere in between. I do like the color and it looks very nice on him. I really tried to persuade him to get a light suit, but he didn't like them and I agreed with him, if he was going to spend all that money, he might as well get something that he will definitely use again because he loves it. The suit should be in in about 2-3 weeks and I'll try to post a picture when it comes in. We both agreed we will have a backup outfit for him to change into once the party starts :). It will probably consist of a short sleeve shirt and some nice bermudas.

Funny story, the guy brought up two jackets at first, when he tried on this one, it look AMAZING! (that's an understatement and I cannot stress it enough haha) so I asked him, "that one is more expensive, right?" well, it turns out it was an Armani suit, and it was over $2000! hahah Juan basically took it off before he could fall in love with it too much :P

Emergency Kits for OOT bags

I got a few more items for the OOT bags and I'm officially done with collecting things for them. yay! I decided to add some kind of emergency kit. All this is kinda funny because I started off being like, no bags! haha. I got a sewing kit for each bag at Michael's, they were $1.50 and I used a coupon on top, of course hahah. I swear, every time I travel I need these sewing kits! Anything from my dress strap coming undone, to my foot getting infected and needing an needle to draw out the infection. I thought that they could come in handy for at least some people. The scissors are total crap, but at least my mom and I had a good laugh about it hahah. Everything else is pretty good.

This is the final list of items:

- Sarongs for the ladies (ebay)

- waterproof cell phone/money holder for the men (ebay)

- Colorful Sunglasses (logolenses.com)

- Pack of gum (superstore wholesale, although Dollarama had the same prices)

- emergency kit:

  • Diarrhea relief (Costco)
  • Tylenol extra strength (Superstore wholesale)
  • anti acid (superstore wholesale)
  • nail file (dollarama, pack of 36)
  • band aids (dollarama)

All in all, we spent around $350 for 25 bags and their goodies for 50 people. I'm pretty happy with that, with the original budget being $300.

I'm attaching some pictures but I'm still missing some items. All the emergency kit stuff will go in the polk-a-dot bag :)

For the Tylenol. I kind of cut some corners. I really wanted to include some in the bags but I couldn't find any of those cute individual packages that wouldn't put us over our budget. Therefore, I bought them in bulk and I'm including a few for each bag in a little package.

What's left:

- This week I'll be trying out the stencil to see if that's an option for the bags. I'll keep you guys posted

- I'm finishing up the welcome brochure. MOH #1 is helping me out with one side of it.

- creating a tag for the emergency kits/wedding survival kit.

Update on the Table Numbers

I bought some place holders from Michael's for the signs and so that project is basically finished. I attached a picture. I had to put a little square of cardstock on the back of each sign because the paper was too thin to be held by the place holder. They should work, even with the wind because those things are heavier than bricks! I will definitely bring only the necessary number of them haha.

Everything looks great. I love the look of the sunglasses. I'm definitely going to get them but I'll wait a bit yet to see how many we need. I was going to go with the pink and the dark blue. Figure it will look cool in pictures.

Everything looks great!!

A $2000 Armani suit, he better have looked hot!  hehe!  Glad he found something he loved and can wear again!

We bought the same nail files but I could only use the small ones as the large ones didn't fit in the cups. I have a tonne of them left over.

I have saw those table number holders and you are right - they are like bricks. Will work great to weigh them down, as I did have some of my frames topple over until the wind settled!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
