anywhere that you can save money is ďefinitely a bonus and anytime you can force a resort or hotel to honor promotions is a double bonus!!! we won't even qualify for anything since we have a grand total of 8 (we hope)! Great news for you!!

I think I was the most upset about the fact that we had booked the hotel almost counting on getting some freebies, but then they changed the rules of the game a few weeks in. I felt swindled almost and since they never even mentioned any perks to me I felt powerless that I couldn't fight it. Everything I've tried fighting so far I've had no luck with, so I'm hoping that having my TA back me up on this one will help.

I also felt really bad, because I had gone through all the small print before booking and I couldn't believe I missed such a huge detail! Even for the free ceremony, it said free for the North American market, so I thought "we're good", but no, I guess according to them Canada is not part of North America ?  haha. A few weeks in, I go into the website and it says for US market only. I was like, am I losing it here?

It is a bummer that you don't get any perks, but I think the biggest bummer here is that they are treating your wedding like it's their last priority. I tell you, sometimes I really don't like them.

HAHA! Maybe we should add a "My Quotable Fiance" thread and add all the ridiculous things our fiances say and want! I love these comments.

Mine wanted to wear a banana hammock sigh

that would be so funny haha. I'm sure we all have more than a few examples :P.

Mine still doesn't understand what thank you cards are for and wants to skip them hahaha *facepalm* but I guess I'll cross that bridge when I get to it :P

@@TinkerSofi Yay! i'm happy to hear about your silver lining :) it's always great when things work out positively..especially when they first started out a bit negative. That's awesome that your travel agent is on top of everything too. One thing i've learned so far is that it really helps to have that! My agent helped me a lot in the beginning and she also helped me by getting out of some hefty vendor fees. It can be a very positive experience if the right people are on your side :)

she's been great so far. I'm pretty hands off but maybe because she takes care of so many things on her own so she makes my job really easy and I don't have to be on her case about anything. I'm sure she does a lot more behind the scenes than what I see. I'm really happy with her :)

Oh, mine too! In fact, every single time WE get a thank you card in the mail he HAS to comment about how unnecessary they are. I'm sure I'll just do them and not even involve him. Maybe I'll never even tell him I did them ;)

It seems as though every day off I have I end up spending money haha. Anyways, at least it's wedding related this time around. This morning I saw a coupon for Michael's with 30% the entire purchase, and another one for 40% one item. I was planning on doing some ant work with the fans and I'm sure we all know the drill haha go in, use the 40% for one package, then come in with my mom's coupon, get another box, and so on until you have reached the desired amount of X product :P

However, I always like to go around anyway and see what they have (this really backfires sometimes because I want everything!). I came across some bags that I thought would be perfect for the OOT bags. I had resigned myself to using paper ones and putting a nice label on them, but these were $2 plus the 30% off, so they came to under $1.50 each. I just thought I wouldn't be able to get a better deal than that. Even if I used paper bags, by the time I factored in the cost of the labels, the ink, etc. they would have been at around the same price. They're pretty big, which is nice. They didn't have a huge variety of colors but I guess beggars can't be choosers so I got them in blue and green. They also had black but I thought colorful is better.

So anyways, for those ladies still looking for OOT bags you can check these out. Here's a picture:

I have to get myself to a Michaels this weekend...it's become my weekend ritual haha. I am the exact same. Every weekend off is spent looking for wedding items and spending money on them lol

I am SO thankful that I'm not having a local wedding. I would literally be thousands of dollars over my budget by now, just on decor, from going to Michael's and getting all these ideas. I always have to think, how am I going to bring all this down? and that kind of stops me from literally buying everything.

They have so many signs and little docorations right now that would go soo well with my wedding that sometimes I just have to tell myself to walk away (while my heart breaks :P) hahah.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
