I was fairly certain you'd lose your lashes. That's one reason I was hesitant. I lost my whole right eye due to using waterproof mascara (doh) and I had to use a thick eyeliner to give the impression they were there lol

I used fake lashes for my wedding day. If you don't touch your eyes you'll be fine. I had never wore them before and at the reception rubbed at my eye and the one end lifted off. Quick solution was to tack it back down with mascara someone had on them. So if you go that route I recommend extra glue or mascara on hand incase you mess up like me lol

I lost none of my eyelashes with those and they came off easy!!!

@calgarybride2015 I remember you telling us your story about losing your lashes too.

It took me a good 4 months to have my lashes grow back to normal. As much as I loved the way they look, they were really high maintenance and I missed waking up to water running down my face when I took showers. I now opt to use strip lashes on special occasions. You can still achieve the same look and you don't lose your lashes in the end. Plus, you can always remove the fake lashes on your own at the end of the night. With lash extensions, you have to get them professionally removed

@Wafflesmom

You just reminded me why I decided not to go with them for the wedding...they also told me to avoid going swimming with them....we were arriving 5 days before our guests which means that we were about 7 days in Mexico before our wedding and I knew they were gonna come off with the salt water etc etc, so I decided to save the money and my eye lashes! :)

@veryvalentine good call! I've heard some people have been told that they can go swimming but my lash technician advised me not to get them wet or wear them in a sauna.

@calgarybride2015 OMG! Yea.. I really dislike waterproof mascara.. I always lose my lashes when I wear it too.

Ive tried the glue on strips too and was also considering it, but man I'm terrible at putting them on! haha. I will definitely need help if I go that route.

@Wafflesmom Oh! I heard the same thing too. I heard if you wear them for many consecutive months it will affect the hair follicles because of the added weight. Alot of people told me that if I just get them for a month it wont affect my eyelashes if the person knows how to properly do them. I guess we shall see and if they fall out after today, I have 4 months to grow some back and I have a box of glue on lashes if need be.

@perianjay you're right in that if it's properly applied, your natural lashes should be safe if you're only wearing them for a month at a time. But, within that month, how you treat your last extensions will also play a role in how your natural lashes survive. Don't pull out tug at the extensions if they get off alignment. Just use tweezers to gently "comb" it back in place. Don't use oil based makeup remover and definitely don't use mascara (you won't need it anyways). Don't shower directly on your face and use a facecloth when washing your face. If you have any questions, feel free to message me.

Aside from those tips, I can't wait to see what you look like with extensions. Your eyes will just pop!

I'm loving the look of your tables, I think it will look great when all put together. I'm stick kicking myself for not adding gold or champagne to my wedding colors haha. I'm in love with the glitter now :)

Love your planning thread. Everything is so beautiful, creative, and well thought out. Maybe borrowing some of your ideas.

@TinkerSofi Thanks! Your colours are so beautiful though! I've had so many 'second guessing' moments with colours and there's been times where I wish I didn't choose gold or bling.

@RandL2015 thank you! No worries at all.. Planning threads are so great and i've gotten a lot of ideas and inspiration from planning threads on this site.

You the funny thing is, now I think of all these palettes that I love but couldn't use them for the wedding to decorate different rooms in our house ahah :)
