@calgarybride2015 I agree. I think that's why I narrowed it down so quickly as well. I didn't refuse to try things that didn't fit me, but I always sided with the designs that the sample gown fit. It is very hard to visualize how things will look if they're 3 sizes too big or too small. No matter how much clipping they do.

@perianjay don't be discouraged. I know it's a bummer and that's always in the back of your head, but you had no control whatsoever on that second dress. As for the first dress, trust me, I got mine thinking "I'll totally fit in it by the time the wedding rolls around" and it didn't happen either. I think when we're so far away from our wedding date we really underestimate the amount of stress this wedding involves. We think "oh yeah, I can totally do that" only to find ourselves overwhelmed with everything and trying to fit in the dress being just another stressor.

Talk about wedding stress, I had a dream last night that I went to pick up my dress from alterations and now it was above my knee, and it had a floral pattern! hahah . Not only that, but the lace that the dress has at the hem had been moved up to the "new hem" so it was basically a short dress with this huge lace bottom that took over the entire skirt hahah. I was crying in the dream because I had no more time to get a new dress and my lovely dress was ruined. Then thankfully I woke up and remembered that on the fitting appointment they just hemmed it to my height haha.

@TinkerSofi It's so true. I noticed that I put a lot more pressure on myself because of the wedding and I've been setting these expectations of myself that are too high/unrealistic. Trying to take my curvy body and shove it into a size 4, when i'm usually and 8-10 was probably not the best idea. I just want to be happy regardless of what size I end up by the time of the wedding and I didn't want to feel like I needed to make myself fit to a certain dress, I want the dress to fit to me!

I've had a few nightmares too, but yours sounds pretty bad!! haha..oh my god, could you imagine?

Well said @TinkerSofi! I agree that you shouldn't be discouraged. You are beautiful and don't let your previous experience get you down. Losing weight is hard enough without the added stress of wedding planning. I can see it now, you'll try on dresses this weekend, feel great in one of them and you'll realize that it was meant to be that those other dresses didn't work for you!! And then you'll have great weather for your engagement shoot

@Wafflesmom Thanks girl! :) I'm getting a bit more excited for my appointment this Saturday. What do you think I should do though.. I'm going in to try the dress on Saturday, but I just heard that they are having a trunk sale on the designer that I'm looking at, but two weeks later. Should I try the dress and then maybe wait it out until two weeks later?

Also, I forgot to post a pictures of my vows books when they came in. Wanted to give glowing reviews to Noteworthy Co on Etsy. She did an amazing job with these and the beautiful hand painting was worth every penny that I spent on these books. We do intend to keep them after the wedding.

@racht33 Check out their store :) https://www.etsy.com...worthydesignscoI love her work and it's all hand painted beautifully! The price wasn't really bad either.. I didn't mind paying for them since they will be in our pictures/videos.

@perianjay you still have the luxury of time on your side so I say try on the dress you're eyeing then wait two weeks and go to the trunk show. You can decide from there which one you love more and can envision wearing on your wedding day. It gives you more options too! Plus trunk shows give discounts so that's always a good thing :)

@perianjay I stumbled upon your planning thread and I am so glad that I did. You have done so much already and have such great ideas.

One question I have - were you happy with the quality of the robes that you purchased for bridesmaids? I was wanting to get them robes and those are such a great deal!!
